    Abstract: A door closer may utilize a door closing device (e.g., spring) and a force adjustment device (e.g., a motor) in order to allow for manual door opening and assisted door closing. During operation, as a door is manually opened, the spring is loaded (e.g., compressed or tensioned) above its pre-loaded closed position state. Once manual opening is completed, the spring that is loaded during opening begins returning to the pre-loaded closed position state, and thus, moves the door automatically towards the closed position. Depending on the pre-loaded spring setting, the closing force of the door may not be enough to close the door, or to close the door with the preferred force. As such, during closing a controller may engage a motor not to drive the door directly, but to increase the pre-load of spring to increase the closing force in order to allow the door to close as preferred.

    Abstract: A fuel filler flap module of a motor vehicle includes a carrier, a fuel filler flap which is pivotably mounted on the carrier and is designed to be movable between a closed position and an open position, and a movement mechanism designed to move the fuel filler flap from the closed position into the open position and back into the closed position. The movement mechanism has a mechanical deployment element which is arranged on the carrier and which is designed to exert a deployment force acting into the open position on the fuel filler flap, wherein the movement mechanism has a motor-driven deployment means which is designed to push the fuel filler flap with an auxiliary force from the closed position up to an initial deployment position, which lies between the closed position and the open position, wherein the auxiliary force is greater than the deployment force.

    Abstract: A protection device for a window opening of a motor vehicle, with a window pane shiftable between a closed position closing the window opening and an open position opening the window opening, at least one shading structure shiftable between a window shading position and a window unblocking position, and a cable drive system for driven shifting of the window pane and/or of the shading structure and having a drive and a cable strand movable by the drive. A mechanical coupling arrangement which, depending on the position of the window pane, the shading structure and movement of the cable strand, is transferable between a first coupling state, in which the shading structure is coupled to the cable strand for the driven shifting and the window pane is decoupled therefrom, and a second coupling state, in which the shading structure is decoupled from the cable strand and the window pane is coupled to the cable strand for the driven shifting.

    Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure are directed to a motor unit for an overhead door opener. The motor unit comprises a motor and transmission components configured to transmit power from the motor to a shaft of an overhead door opener. The motor unit also includes a case having one or more vertical panels. The case houses the motor and the transmission components. The motor unit also includes guide bearings on an edge of the vertical panels that accommodate a shaft of an overhead door with the case supported by the shaft. The transmission components comprise a shaft-engaging member configured to be secured around the shaft by affixing the shaft-engaging member to the shaft. The transmission components transmit power from the motor to the shaft of the overhead door.
