Abstract: A data driven spectrum sharing approach is implemented amongst users of a shared band. A spectrum access controller (SAC) estimates interference and allocates spectrum in one or more bands to a plurality of spectrum user devices, e.g., macro base stations, small cell base stations, access points, etc. Different spectrum user devices in the plurality of spectrum user devices may correspond to different service providers, may use different technologies, may use different communications protocols, and/or may have different transmission power levels. The spectrum user devices send data feedback reports to the SAC including, e.g., received signals strength information, signal quality information, interference information, etc. The SAC uses the received data feedback reports to adjust, e.g., fine tune, interference limits and/or propagation model parameters. The SAC uses the adjusted, e.g., refined, interference limits and adjusted, e.g., refined propagation models, to make more accurate decisions regarding spectrum reuse.

Abstract: Methods and systems for automatically optimizing power utilization in a network. A method for automatically optimizing power utilization in a network includes obtaining, by a network controller from a database, systems provisioned in the network, wherein a system includes one or more actionable components and wherein the systems and associated one or more actionable components are actional elements, obtaining predictive traffic model statistics for a circuit under evaluation, wherein the circuit transits between at least two systems of the systems in the network, obtaining real-time traffic statistics for the circuit under evaluation; and disabling, by the network controller when the real-time traffic model statistics are within a threshold of the predictive traffic model statistics, one or more actional elements to optimize power utilization while factoring in fate sharing dependencies associated with the one or more actional elements and while maintaining minimum utilization requirements of the network.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus for supporting wireless medium sharing in wireless communications systems, e.g., various 802.11 wireless communications systems, are described. A novel shared transmission type of trigger frame is implemented, which allows a wireless station, acting as a host station, to make available transmission resources, which have been acquired by the wireless station, to one or more guest stations. A shared transmission type of trigger frame, generated and transmitted by the host station communicates information identifying the attributes of a corresponding trigger based (TB) frame, information identifying resources of the TB frame to be used by the host station and information identifying one or more set of shared resources which may be used by guest station(s). The trigger based (TB) frame, corresponding to the transmitted shared transmission type trigger frame, is used by the host station and one or more guest stations to transmit data to an access point.

Abstract: A radio frequency (RF) amplifier assembly includes modular amplification and processing units, which can be easily installed or replaced in the housing of the RF amplifier assembly, e.g., in response to changing needs and/or changing capabilities in the cable network communications system. The RF amplifier housing facilitates, e.g., via slots with connectors, accepting and coupling of alternative modular units, which can be installed/removed. The RF amplifier assembly includes a first spectrum (e.g., legacy spectrum) amplification and processing circuit, supporting both upstream and downstream signaling. The RF amplification assembly further includes one or more optional additional (extended) spectrum amplification and processing circuits, which are removeable modular units, and which support downstream signaling over extended spectrum. The RF amplifier assembly further includes spectrum splitter/combiner circuits, e.g., implemented in some embodiments using a diplexer-less design, for splitting/combining spectrum blocks with regard to multiple amplification and processing circuits installed within the RF amplifier assembly.

Abstract: A network vulnerability scanning system scans a target device for vulnerabilities to obtain network connection data for the target device. The network vulnerability scanning system determines the network connection data includes a network connection between the target device and a hidden network system. The network vulnerability scanning system installs a network scanning application on the target device in response to determining the network connection data includes the network connection between the target device and the hidden network system. The network vulnerability scanning system scans the hidden network system for vulnerabilities via the network scanning application installed on the target device.
