Abstract: Methods of forming a MOS transistor and a MOS transistor fabricated thereby are provided. The MOS transistor includes a semiconductor substrate of a first conductivity type, and an insulated gate pattern having sidewalls disposed on a predetermined region of the semiconductor substrate of a first conductivity type so that portions of the semiconductor substrate of a first conductivity type on at least one side of the insulated gate pattern remain uncovered by the insulated gate pattern. The MOS transistor also includes impurity regions having at least an upper surface of a second conductivity type disposed on the semiconductor substrate at at least one side of the insulated gate pattern, as well as at least one spacer disposed on at least one sidewall of the insulated gate pattern. The MOS transistor further contains a pad of a second conductivity type disposed on an upper surface of the impurity regions, whereby the pad covers a lower portion of the at least one spacer.

Abstract: This disclosure generally relates to various directional input units of a mobile communication terminal, where such directional input units receive a single user input or multiple concurrent user inputs and then acquires at least one selecting (user) sub-input therefrom while a terminal is in its powered-off state or its off-state. After acquiring the selecting user sub-input, a terminal runs at least one pre-selected operation which is selected from a set of multiple pre-selected operations and which matches the selecting user sub-input when a terminal powers on from its powered-off state or wakes up from its off-state. A directional input unit may acquire the selecting user sub-input from a movement of at least a portion thereof, a contact between at least a portion thereof and a user body part, or the like. As a result, a terminal can provide a user with more seamless operations.

Abstract: Memory systems can include a memory device having an array of nonvolatile memory cells therein, which is electrically coupled to a plurality of bit lines and a plurality of word lines. Abstract: In a MOS transistor and a method of manufacturing the same, a gate structure including a gate insulating layer and a gate electrode is formed on a semiconductor substrate. A first insulating layer is formed to cover the gate structure. A second insulating layer is formed on the substrate that is spaced apart from the first insulating layer. A lightly doped source/drain region is formed in the surface portions of the substrate between the second insulating layer and the gate structure. A source/drain extension layer are formed on the lightly doped source/drain region. A heavily doped source/drain region is formed on the second insulating layer so as to connect with the source/drain extension layer. The short channel effect is suppressed and the source/drain junction capacitance is reduced.
