Abstract: An insurance exchange for providing a neutral, unbiased and automated lead generating platform for interaction, relating to insurance products and services, between a set of users and a set of providers. The system integrates the processes involved in an insurance lifecycle including quote management, endorsement and claims assistance using a single unique code. The unique code captures minute details of the insurance product's lifecycle which can be tracked and retrieved for processing requisitions at any stage of the insurance lifecycle by the system. Moreover, the system gives a user the flexibility to use/enroll to the system at any time within the life of purchased Insurance product. Thus, the insurance exchange is a one-stop shop for a user for any insurance stream including life, non-life, takaful or micro to compare benefits and prices, choose and avail any insurance product or service and also to redress his grievances.

Abstract: In response to a signal failing to exceed an estimated level of noise by more than a predetermined amount for more than a predetermined continuous duration, the estimated level of noise is adjusted according to a first time constant in response to the signal rising and a second time constant in response to the signal falling, so that the estimated level of noise falls more quickly than it rises. In response to the signal exceeding the estimated level of noise by more than the predetermined amount for more than the predetermined continuous duration, a speed of adjusting the estimated level of noise is accelerated.

Abstract: A method of environmental noise compensation a speech audio signal is provided that includes estimating a fast audio energy level and a slow audio energy level in an audio environment, wherein the speech audio signal is not part of the audio environment, and applying a gain to the speech audio signal to generate an environment compensated speech audio signal, wherein the gain is updated based on the estimated slow audio energy level when the estimated fast audio energy level is not indicative of an audio event in the audio environment and the estimated gain is not updated when the estimated fast audio energy level is indicative an audio event in the audio environment.

Abstract: A method is proposed identification of pairs of genes for which the respective gene expression values in a subject are statistically significant in relation to a medical condition, for example cancer, or more particularly breast cancer. Many pairs of genes are generated, and for each pair of genes clinical data is used to fit a statistical model to obtain the statistical significance of the ratio of the corresponding expression values. The clinical data characterizes for each of the patients the level of expressions of the genes and times until a clinical endpoint of interest.

Abstract: A universal water purifier unitary assembly device comprising a device housing unit support structure, a manually operated air pump, a force-fed water filter cartridge of multiple separable stages and a separable sealing means to seal the junction and opening between said universal water purifier unitary assembly device housing unit support structure and water container of water to be filtered wherein junction and opening between of said water purifier unitary assembly device housing unit support structure and said water container is sealed to retain compressed air. Water of said container is filtered, treated and used as needed on demand as in a group environment wherein individual use and consumption of purified water is relevant. The water is stored in a container, being pumped from the container by compressed air provided by an air pump. Filter elements include sediment and cyst removal filters, ion exchange resins, semi-permeable membranes including a hollow fiber membrane, porous activated carbon particles and activated carbon blocks. The device housing unit support structure unifies the functional elements of the invention as an operational unit of easy transport for use with any water container of a suitably sized mouth.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus for improving cache hits in network processors using flow-based packet assignment to compute engines. Packet processing operations are performed on a network processor having multiple compute engines via execution of instruction threads on those compute engines. Via execution of the threads, a flow-based packet processing assignment mechanism is implemented that causes at least a portion of the packet processing operations for packets associated with common flows to be performed on compute engines assigned to perform packet processing operations for those flows. This results in the same compute engines performing packet processing on packets assigned to common sets of flows, thus increasing the cache hits on data that is stored locally on the compute engines pertaining to the flows.
