An actuator is provided for a two-part stabilizer, which builds up a spring rate in its opened position. A hydraulic absorbing unit (9) is arranged on the axle of the switchable coupling unit (8). The absorbing unit is connected to one stabilizer part (4), on the one hand, and to the other stabilizer part (5), on the other hand. The absorbing unit forms at least one pressure chamber (32) and a suction chamber (33) and assumes a blocked position in the locked position of the switchable coupling (8) and counteracts the relative twisting motion between the two stabilizer parts (4, 5) at a hydraulic spring rate in the opened position of the switchable coupling (8).

A user viewing a World Wide Web page or other content item activates an interface to indicate that he or she is interested in additional information related to the subject of the page. A context vector or other representation of the content of the page being viewed is transmitted to an information server, which identifies possible transactions related to the content and proposes one or more of these transactions to the user. Transaction proposals can be presented together with a contextual search interface that allows the user to submit zero or more search terms together with the context vector as a search query.

The invention is directed to an electrical appliance, in particular an appliance for hair removal or hair care, with at least one electric power unit, an electric circuit connected thereto and including an On/Off switch, and a fluid circuit feeding a fluid from a reservoir to an application site which is open to atmosphere and where fluid is withdrawn from the fluid circuit, wherein the On/Off switch, in overcoming an actuator travel, is switchable between two end positions and is coupled to an actuator of a shutoff valve of the fluid circuit.

The invention relates to a method and an apparatus for the laser machining of workpieces, a laser beam being two-dimensionally positionable with the aid of a laser machining head with respect to a surface of a workpiece and it being intended for the machining of the workpiece to take place with predeterminable contours. According to the object, it is to be possible for the forming of the contours to be realized with high positional accuracy at low cost and with little effort. To achieve this object, the laser beam is correspondingly guided by means of a laser machining head, in which at least one two-dimensionally pivotable scanner mirror is accommodated. The scanner mirror or two scanner mirrors is/are connected to an electronic evaluation and control unit. Before the actual machining, a set-actual value comparison is carried out with respect to the position of the workpiece with at least one predetermined contour with respect to the laser machining head. For this purpose, a light beam of a light source is focused and directed via one or else two scanner mirror(s) onto the surface of the workpiece and deflected along at least one axis by pivoting at least one of the scanner mirrors. The light reflected from the workpiece surface passes via the scanner mirror or mirrors onto an optical detector and is focused onto the latter. Taking into account the respective pivoting angle of the scanner mirror(s), the measuring signals of this optical detector are fed to the electronic evaluation and control unit, so that the deflection of the laser beam can be controlled during the machining in dependence on the actual position of the contour ascertained in this way for the machining.

A drilling system and a method of drilling a wellbore in an earth formation. A first antenna is disposed at a first location near a drill string. A second antenna is disposed at a second location of the drill string. The first antenna has a first specific moment. One of the first antenna and the second antenna is operated as a transmitter that transmits a transmitted signal, and the other is operated as a receiver that receives a received signal in response to the transmitted signal. The processor determines a property of an earth formation from the received signal.

Methods and systems for optimizing drilling operations in a wellbore using a drill string are provided. The methods and systems include measuring a first formation characteristic with at least one sensor, measuring a second formation characteristic by means of a hydraulic test, the at least one second formation characteristic being different from the at least one first formation characteristic, generating a model to represent a formation around the wellbore, the model incorporating the first formation characteristic and the second formation characteristic, and performing a drilling operation based on the generated model.

A system for determining bending of a drilling tool includes at least one element attached to the drilling tool and the at least one element includes a magnetic material, and at least one electrical conduit in the drilling tool and electro-magnetically coupled to the at least one element. The system also includes at least one signal source that feeds a signal into the electrical conduit and a measurement system that: measures at least one property of the signal in the electrical conduit as the signal source feeds the signal; and determines the bending of the drilling tool based on the measured property of the signal.

An apparatus and method determines the location of wafer boat plate elements having a plurality of plate elements arranged substantially parallel to each other. At least three sensors are moved along travel paths perpendicular to the plate elements, wherein at least a first travel path is above, at least a second travel path is below the wafer boat and at third travel path is laterally spaced from the first or second travel paths above or below the wafer boat. During this movement the position of the sensors along a respective travel path is determined continuously, and it is determined, in which position a respective plate element enters the measuring area of a sensor and exits the same. A distance between a sensor and an edge of a plate element is measured and the location of a respective plate element is determined by means of the sensor signals.
