摘要： A method for manufacturing a sack or bag with a bottom being rectangular in the filled state and a handle portion joined thereto. An economical method for production by machine, according to the invention includes the following steps carried out sequently. A flattened tube piece (10) is provided with two slits at one end. The slits are substantially parallel to each other and to the lateral edges of the tube. Then a bottom square is formed by folding the tube piece near the slit end with corner tucks (14) and side tucks (16, 18). A prefabricated handle portion (22), including a reinforcing strip (24) and a connection strip (26) is glued or welded such that an edge portion (20) of one side tuck (16) is not covered by the prefabricated handle portion. Subsequently, such side tuck (16) and the corner tucks (14) are folded along a fold line (28) extending through the center of the corner tucks (14) and the uncovered edge portion (20) is glued or welded to the corresponding adjacent section of the handle portion. Finally a griphole cut (36) is punched in reinforcing section (24).

The upstream pressure bar clamps the leading end of the web to a backing bar. The second pressure bar, which is disposed between a severing knife and the upstream bar, tensions the web clamped between a pair of feed rollers and the upstream pressure bar before the severing knife cuts the web.

摘要： The invention relates to stacking flat articles, such as tube sections, bags or sacks, with two spaced apart hubs arranged to rotate in synchronism on a horizontal axis and carrying respective spiders, the arms of which are equally angularly spaced and on their leading sides, in the sense of rotation, carry suction nozzles, with a receiving or carrying conveyor for the article disposed between the arms adjacent to the horizontal plane which contains the horizontal axis and protrude beyond the articles to such an extent that the side edges of the articles extend, at least in part, to the planes in which the arms are rotatable. A series of needles are disposed on the side of the axis which is opposite to the receiving conveyor and are closely spaced from the arms of one of the spiders and extend approximately parallel to that one of the arms which is in a vertical position, to enter perforations of the articles as the articles are delivered by the arms. The receiving conveyor is preceded by a pair of pinch rollers, which are formed with spaced apart annular grooves and air blast nozzles are provided in the annular grooves on both side of a sheeting web, with additional air blast nozzles arranged in a row extending in the direction of conveyance and disposed laterally between the receiving conveyor and the planes in which the arms are rotatable.

摘要： In a bag-making machine, a flattened tubular plastics web is intermittently fed by rollers and the leading end is held taut by air jets from tubes above and below the web. Welding jaws apply base seams for bag sections successively severed from the leading web end by knives. Between the knives and a stacking conveyor for the bag sections there is a supporting plate for the bag sections co-operating with a depressor. Two rows of needles pass alternately through slots in the supporting plate into a raised spiking position. Upon completion of a stack, the needles of one row are moved by a carrier to push the stack closer to the conveyor while the latter is moving and are eventually retracted from the stack while the needles of the other row take their place by moving into the spiking position for the next stack of bag sections.

Means are provided for axially displacing one of the cutting cylinders when the feed roller is being uncoupled from the drive, whereby to separate the cutting blades, and for returning the cylinder to bring the blades back into cutting relationship when the feed roller is being coupled to the drive.
