Abstract: Systems and methods of providing NR V2V communications are disclosed Channel sensing is used by both UEs to determine sets of candidate resources, and subsequently select a resource, for PSCCH and PSSCH transmissions. The transmitting UE selects the PSCCH resource and transmits a scheduling request using the PSCCH resource, while the receiving UE selects a PSCCH and the PSSCH resource and transmits a scheduling grant in the PSCCH containing transmission parameters and the PSSCH resource to the transmitting UE. When the scheduling request contains the candidate resources for the PSCCH transmission, the receiving UE uses the intersection of the candidate resources for the PSCCH transmission and the candidate resources for transmission to determine the PSCCH and the PSSCH resource.

Abstract: A user equipment (UE) can receive, from an eNodeB, a serving PLMN system information block (SIB)19 for a carrier frequency of a serving PLMN of the UE. The UE can acquire inter-frequency and inter-PLMN discovery system information acquisition assistance signaling information from the SIB19. The UE can process a non-serving PLMN SIB19 for one or more carrier frequencies of a non-serving PLMN using the inter-frequency and inter-PLMN discovery system information acquisition assistance signaling information. The UE can identify inter-frequency and inter-PLMN discovery announcement rate information and monitoring control configuration information for the one or more carrier frequencies of the non-serving PLMN to enable the UE to perform device-to-device (D2D) discovery with a UE in the non-serving PLMN according to the inter-frequency and inter-PLMN discovery announcement rate information and monitoring control configuration information.

Abstract: Embodiments of a User Equipment (UE) and methods for communication are generally described herein. The UE may be configured for carrier aggregation using a primary component carrier (CC) and a secondary CC. The UE may attempt to detect a sidelink synchronization signal (SLSS) from another UE on the primary CC. The UE may, if the SLSS from the other UE is detected: determine, based on the detected SLSS, a common time synchronization for the primary CC and the secondary CC for vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) sidelink transmissions in accordance with the carrier aggregation. The UE may, if the SLSS from the other UE is not detected: transmit an SLSS to enable determination of the common time synchronization for the primary CC and the secondary CC by the other UE. The SLSS may be transmitted on the primary CC.

Abstract: Embodiments of a Generation Node-B (gNB), User Equipment (UE) and methods for communication are generally described herein. The gNB may allocate a resource pool of physical resource blocks (PRBs) and sub-frames for vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) sidelink transmissions. The gNB may receive, from a UE, an uplink control message that indicates that the UE requests a V2V sidelink transmission of a prioritized message. The gNB may select, for the V2V sidelink transmission of the prioritized message, one or more PRBs and one or more sub-frames. The gNB may transmit, to the UE and to other UEs, a downlink control message that indicates: the selected PRBs, the selected sub-frames, and that the other UEs are to mute sidelink transmissions in the selected PRBs in the selected sub-frames to enable the V2V sidelink transmission of the prioritized message.

Abstract: A wireless communication device is configured to perform resource access in device-to-device (D2D) communication. A user equipment (UE) is provided with processing hardware comprising application processing circuitry and baseband processing circuitry. The application processing circuitry assigns a per-packet priority to data packets in the application layer. The baseband processing circuitry maps the per-packet priority to a transmission priority in the physical layer and prioritizes access to a wireless resource pool depending upon the transmission priority. A UE having the application processing circuitry and baseband processing circuitry is also provided. A computer program product is also provided. An evolved Node B (eNodeB) allocates a resource quota to a UE based upon priority information from the UE corresponding to a D2D communication to be transmitted by the UE. Other embodiments may be described and claimed.

Abstract: Communication signals using a first and a second frequency band in a wireless network is described herein. The first frequency band may be associated with a first beamwidth while the second frequency band may be associated with a second beamwidth. An apparatus may include receiver circuitry arranged to receive first signals in a first frequency band associated with a first beamwidth and second signals in a second frequency band associated with a second beamwidth, the first signals comprising a frame synchronization parameter and the second signals comprising frame alignment signals. The apparatus may further include processor circuitry coupled to the receiver circuitry, the processor circuitry arranged to activate or deactivate the receiver circuitry to receive the frame alignment signals based on the frame synchronization parameter. A vUE detects specific non-LTE RAT transmissions in a listening period of a PSCCH or PSSCH, determines whether a metric has been met and reselects to a non-overloaded channel to communicate with other vUEs or the eNB. The manner of reselection is dependent on the RAT specific or V2X service priorities of the channels, as well as whether the channels are V2V service dependent.
