Abstract: Methods and apparatus to provide accident avoidance information to passengers of autonomous vehicles are disclosed. An example apparatus includes a safety analyzer to determine an autonomously controlled vehicle is in a safe situation at a first point in time and in a dangerous situation at a second point in time. The example apparatus also includes a user interface generator to: generate user interface data to define content for a user interface to be displayed via a screen, the user interface to include a graphical representation of the vehicle, the user interface to graphically indicate the vehicle is in the safe situation at the first point in time; and modify the user interface data so that the user interface graphically indicates the vehicle is in the dangerous situation at the second point in time.

Abstract: According to various embodiments, a method for operating a vehicle may include determining a vehicular area having traffic conditions or characteristics different from traffic conditions of a current or previous location of the vehicle; obtaining traffic and driving information for the determined vehicular region; changing or updating one or more of driving model parameters of a safety driving model during operation of the vehicle based on the obtained traffic and driving information; and controlling the vehicle to operate in accordance with the safety driving model using the one or more changed or updated driving model parameters. A vehicle may seamlessly update operational rules and/or handover of traffic and driving information for transitioning from one region to another.

Abstract: Systems, apparatuses and methods may provide for technology that obtains categorization information and corresponding uncertainty information from a perception subsystem, wherein the categorization information and the corresponding uncertainty information are to be associated with an object in an environment. The technology may also determine whether the corresponding uncertainty information satisfies one or more relevance criteria, and automatically control the perception subsystem to increase an accuracy in one or more subsequent categorizations of the object if the corresponding uncertainty information satisfies the one or more relevance criteria. In one example, determining whether the corresponding uncertainty information satisfies the relevance criteria includes taking a plurality of samples from the categorization information and the corresponding uncertainty information, generating a plurality of actuation plans based on the plurality of samples, and determining a safety deviation across the plurality of actuation plans, wherein the relevance criteria are satisfied if the safety deviation exceeds a threshold.

Abstract: Systems and techniques for simulated vehicle modeling with real vehicle profiles are described herein. In an example, a simulated vehicle modeling system is adapted to obtain a vehicle performance fingerprint, such as from a vehicle performance fingerprint that includes vehicle performance data collected from a unique vehicle while experiencing real world driving conditions. The simulated vehicle modeling system may be further adapted to present, in a driving simulator, a simulated driving experience with a simulated vehicle, such as for a simulated vehicle that is constructed based on the vehicle performance fingerprint. The simulated vehicle modeling system may be further adapted to update a set of driving directives for an autonomous vehicle based on the simulated driving experience and upload the set of driving directive to an autonomous vehicle.
