    摘要: The present invention relates to huXAG-1, huXAG-2 and huXAG-3 proteins which are novel human growth factors. In particular, isolated nucleic acid molecules are provided encoding the huXAG-1, huXAG-2 and huXAG-3 proteins. huXAG-1, huXAG-2 and huXAG-3 polypeptides are also provided as are vectors, host cells and recombinant methods for producing the same. The invention further relates to screening methods for identifying agonists and antagonists of huXAG-1, huXAG-2 or huXAG-3 activity. Also provided are diagnostic and therapeutic uses of huXAG-1, huXAG-2 and huXAG-3.

    摘要: A human F-spondin-like protein and DNA (RNA) encoding such protein and a procedure for producing such protein by recombinant techniques is disclosed. Also disclosed are methods for utilizing such polypeptide for treating spinal cord injuries and damage to peripheral nerves by promoting neural-cell adhesion and neurite extension, inhibiting tumor metastases and tumor angiogenesis, and stimulating wound repair. Antagonists are also disclosed which may be utilized to prevent malaria. Diagnostic assays for identifying mutations in nucleic acid sequence encoding a polypeptide of the present invention and for detecting altered levels of the polypeptide of the present invention for detecting diseases, for example, cancer, are also disclosed.

Antagonists against such polypeptides and their use as a therapeutic to prevent abnormal cellular proliferation, hyper-vascular diseases and epithelial lens cell proliferation are also disclosed. Diagnostic methods for detecting mutations in the coding sequence and alterations in the concentration of the polypeptides in a sample derived from a host are also disclosed.
