    摘要: Gelled acidic compositions suitable for either matrix-acidizing or fracture-acidizing of subterranean formations, and methods of using said compositions in acidizing operation, are provided. Said compositions comprise water, a water-soluble cellulose ether, an acid, a water-soluble compound of a polyvalent metal wherein the metal can be reduced to a lower polyvalent valence state and cause gelation of the water containing said cellulose ether and said acid, and a reducing agent capable of reducing said metal and causing said gelation.

    摘要: Organic compounds are dehydrogenated to compounds having a higher degree of unsaturation by contacting the feedstock in the vapor phase in the presence of an oxygen-containing gas with a catalyst containing tin in an oxidized state in combination with at least one of the metals bismuth, cobalt, or nickel in an oxidized state. Representative of such conversions is the oxidative dehydrogenation of butane to 1,3-butadiene over a nickel stannate-containing catalyst. The conversion products are valuable compounds particularly useful as intermediates for the preparation of polymeric materials such as synthetic rubbers and the like.

Representative of such oxidative dehydrogenation processes is the conversion of butane to butenes and butadienes.
