摘要: A multiplexed system including at least two microcomputers operable in parallel with each other, and watch dog timers. One of the watch dog timers is connected for receipt of an input signal from one of the microcomputers to check a program run-away condition in the one microcomputer. The other watch dog timer is connected for receipt of an input signal from the other microcomputer to check a program run-away condition in the other microcomputer. The one microcomputer checks the other watch dog timer, and the other microcomputer checks the one watch dog time. Calculation results are fed from the respective microcomputers to a comparator circuit which produces an output signal from the multiplexed system. When the one microcomputer checks the other watch dog timer, the input signal from the other microcomputer to the other watch dog timer is interrupted. The other watch dog timer is checked based on an operating condition of the other microcomputer. The calculation result fed from the other microcomputer to the comparator circuit is interrupted while the other watch dog timer is checked.

摘要: A digital image forming apparatus which detects a center of a book document when reading and writing an image of the document, including a document, a document board on which the document is set, a reading device for reading the document by scanning the document, an A/D converter for converting an analog signal which is read by the reading device to a digital signal, a signal processor for processing the digital signal, including a first detector for detecting the existence of a dark portion in the image of the document and judging the document to be a book document if the document image has the dark portion, based on the signal corresponding to at least two lines on the document in a scanning direction, or in a direction perpendicular to the scanning direction and a second detector for detecting a center portion of the document on the basis of each center dark portion of each signal of the lines if the document is judged to be a book document, and a writing device for writing the digital signal on a photoconductive element in relation to the detected center portion. Edge portions of the document can similarly be detected and used in writing an image of the document so that an unnecessary part of the book document can be erased with simple structure and operation.

摘要: A vacuum cleaner rotates a propeller fan by its suction force. The propeller fan rotates a rotor of a d.c. electric energy generator so as to generate electrical energy, and a d.c. voltage corresponding to the suction force is obtained by the generation. The vacuum cleaner employs the d.c. voltage as an operating voltage for a dust sensor and the peripheral circuitry thereof. The vacuum cleaner compares the d.c. voltage with a constant voltage output from a constant-voltage circuit by a comparing circuitry. The vacuum cleaner lowers the gain of an amplifying circuitry based upon a signal output from the comparing circuitry in correspondance to an increasing of the d.c. voltage obtained by the d.c. electric energy generator. The amplifying circuitry amplifies output of the dust sensor. The vacuum cleaner automatically determines detection sensitivity to be a proper sensitivity. The detection sensitivity is the sensitivity for detecting dust, based upon an output from the dust sensor.

摘要: A bus bar connecting device according to the invention comprises a clamper for clamping first and second bus bars disposed to extend at an angle with each other. The clamper is preferably electrically conductive to permit passage of an electric current therethrough. The second bus bar may have a hole, and a bolt extends through the clamper and the hole of the second bus bar, and screwed into a nut provided on the opposite side of the second bus bar. As the bolt is screwed into the nut, the clamper is pressed against the bus bars, and also presses the first and second bus bars against each other. Preferably, the clamper has linear protrusions at which it is in contact with the bus bars. Because of the pressure contact along the entire linear protrusions, the area of contact is larger than if the contact is made only at a point. The device is provided with a mechanism to prevent shift of the second bus bar in the lateral direction of the first bus bar. Such a mechanism may consist of a step of the clamper. Such a mechanism may additionally consist of a bent end of the second bus bar or a protrusion provided on the second bus bar. Such a mechanism may alternatively be in the form of an elongated dent or groove provided on the first bus bar with which one of the linear protrusions of the clamper is engaged.

摘要: A peel-apart type instant photographic apparatus using a negative film and a positive sheet. The apparatus has a dark box for developing and accommodating the negative film and positive sheet, or supply, joined together and having a developer spread therebetween. The dark box is removable from the apparatus body and, therefore, easy to clean and handle. When the dark box is not mounted on the apparatus body in predetermined conditions, a printing operation is inhibited to eliminate the waste of negative sheets and positive sheets. A printing operation is also inhibited when the supply is left in the dark box.

摘要: A capacitance-based occupant detection system accurately determines seat occupancy and a failure of an electrode and between electrodes and includes an impedance calculation section, a Re/Im part calculation section, and a determination section. A first impedance Z1 is calculated including a main-body impedance Za between a main electrode and a vehicle body. The Re/Im part calculation section calculates real and imaginary parts of the first impedance Z1 based on the first impedance Z1 calculated by the impedance calculation section. The determination section determines the presence or absence of destruction of the main electrode and a guard electrode based on an imaginary part of the first impedance Z1 calculated by the Re/Im part calculation section.

摘要: There is provided an anastomosis system for performing an anastomosis in a body. The system includes an anastomosis button, which has two foldable flange portions and a tubular main body portion extending between the flange portions, for coupling two lumen portions in the body to each other, and a housing which can receive the anastomosis button as the flange portions are folded. The system further includes a guide, which has a distal end to be inserted through a patient's mouth to a target portion in the body and a proximal end arranged outside the body, for guiding the housing to the target portion. A release line having a distal end to be inserted to the target portion along the guide and a proximal end held outside the body is operated, whereby the anastomosis button can be ejected from the housing and be held at the target portion.
