    摘要: A system and method for encoding symbols in a wireless communication is provided. The system and method includes a transmitter configured to encode data transmissions. The transmitter includes a raptor encoder configured to perform a coding operation. The raptor encoder generates intermediate symbols without using a half-code such that the intermediate symbols consist of precoded symbols and parity symbols. Thereafter, the intermediate symbols are encoded using a Luby Transform to produce and output encoded symbols. The transmitter further is configured to transmit one or more of the source symbols, parity symbols or encoded symbols.

    摘要: In a JE, spread spectrum communication MIMO system where a demultiplexed packet is transmitted over multiple streams, two versions of a single CQI are disclosed: generalized SNR or constrained mutual information CMI between the transmitted and received chip vectors. In the receiver, the CMI is constrained so that filtering is suboptimal. The filter bank is preferably LMMSE or MVDR filters that convert the multi-path channel into a single path channel so that joint sequence detection is unnecessary. Detection is by a per-Walsh code architecture, wherein a plurality of Walsh-code specific detectors in parallel detect bits or symbols from the single-channel chips after downconverting chip to symbols. Link to system mapping is realizable using the disclosed CQI for a JE MIMO system in that the CQI or related information is returned to the transmitter, which adapts coding rate and/or modulation for the channel as represented by the CQI.

The method includes encoding the modulation scheme on a modulation specifier and encoding a number of channelization codes on a code group indicator. When the modulation scheme is other than quadrature phase shift keying with the user equipment being configured to support 64-quadrature amplitude modulation (64-QAM), then set the modulation specifier to indicate that the applied modulation scheme is other than QPSK, encode a code offset on a code offset indicator, and set one bit of the code offset indicator to indicate that the applied modulation scheme is 64-QAM. Finally, the method includes transmitting the modulation specifier, the code group indicator, and the code offset indicator on the control channel to the user equipment.

    摘要: Disclosed is a LMMSE receiver that restores orthogonality of spreading codes in the downlink channel for a spread spectrum signal received over N receive antennas. The FFT-based chip equalizer tap solver reduces the direct matrix inverse of the prior art to the inverse of some submatrices of size N×N with the dimension of the receive antennas, and most efficiently reduces matrix inverses to no larger than 2×2. Complexity is further reduced over a conventional Fast Fourier Transform approach by Hermitian optimization to the inverse of submatrices and tree pruning. For a receiver with N=4 or N=2 with double oversampling, the resulting 4×4 matrices are partitioned into 2×2 block sub-matrices, inverted, and rebuilt into a 4×4 matrix. Common computations are found and repeated computations are eliminated to improve efficiency. Generic design architecture is derived from the special design blocks to eliminate redundancies in complex operations. Optimally, the architecture is parallel and pipelined.

    摘要: A method and apparatus for transmitting and receiving a common control channel in an Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) mobile communication system. In the transmission apparatus, when a plurality of bursts are transmitted during a Transmission Time Interval (TTI) of the common control channel, an Inverse Fast Fourier Transform (IFFT) mapper generates bursts that are shifted in a frequency domain by applying a predetermined cyclic shift offset between the bursts, and maps the generated bursts in a resource block. A transmission unit transmits the bursts to a receiver. In the reception apparatus, a reception unit receives a burst, and a combining unit combines the received burst with a burst stored in a buffer. A decoder decodes each of the combined bursts, and upon a successful decoding, detects a TTI start timing of the common control channel from the successfully decoded burst.
