摘要: A compact turning device for a heavy object, comprising a turning arm joined to the heavy object and a drive device drivingly turning the turning arm. The drive device further comprises a motor incorporating a rotor shaft connected to the rotating input part of a planetary gear type speed reducer on a same axis (A). Also, the turning arm is installed by joining its first plane to the plane of the planetary gear type speed reducer forming the rotating output part and its second plane orthogonal to the first plane to the heavy object. The turning arm and the drive device are disposed within the width (D) of the heavy object in the axis (A) direction of the turning pivot of the turning arm. The planetary gear type speed reducer of the drive device may be disposed in two front and rear stages.

摘要: An ink jet recording apparatus can effectively extend its lifetime with regard to disconnection without acceleration of deterioration of the heater element with aging, and can avoid adverse effects owing to its use environment, the deteriorated state of the heater element, scattering in recording heads at manufacturing, and the like. Because deterioration of recorded images caused by disconnection in heaters can be avoided, stable image quality can be obtained. The ink jet recording apparatus has a plurality of heater elements in a recording head thereof, for ejecting ink by heating of the heater elements, and includes a control unit for executing driving control of the heater elements. The same heater element is driven for recording under different driving conditions, independently of recording data.

摘要: A computing system and an exclusive access control method are provided for preventing degraded performance of a network caused by exclusive access control, and for permitting a computer to exclusively access a storage area irrespective of whether a storage has an exclusive access control function. In the computing system in which a plurality of computers and an external storage device storing shared data are connected through a relay, exclusive access control is executed by a device other than the storage. Specifically, the relay having a virtualizing function is instructed to execute exclusive access control. The relay has information indicating whether a storage area on the storage is an exclusive access area, so that the relay determines based on this information whether an access request received from a computer requests an access to an exclusive access area, and executes exclusive access control when it is an access request.

摘要: A communications system in which both a layer-2 and layer-3 virtual private networks (VPNS) can operate in an efficient and cost-effective way to offer improved network services. An ingress edge node has a path data manager which sets and manages path data describing configuration of an intra-network transport path. For transport over the intra-network transport path, a labeling unit adds an intra-network transport label to each outgoing frame, based on the path data. Those frames also have a VPN label for transport over an end-to-end VPN path. In an egress edge node, a frame discrimination value setting unit gives a frame discrimination value for identifying to which VPN each received frame belongs. A redirection processor redirects the received frames to their destinations according to their VPN labels and frame discrimination value.

摘要: An adjusting bolt is screwed into a nut attached to a dolly, and is disposed such that a central axis thereof is parallel to a closing and opening direction of a contact. A lever is attached to a shaft. An electrically-insulating rod is coupled to a first end of the lever, and a pin is mounted to a second end of the lever. The adjusting bolt is turned and lowered to lower the pin. The lever and the shaft are pivoted by the lowering of the pin, and the electrically-insulating rod is raised. Thus, a movable contact moves toward a fixed contact, moving the contact from an open state to a closed state.

摘要: A liquid-discharge recording head includes large nozzles for discharging large liquid drops and medium and small nozzles for discharging medium and small liquid drops that are smaller than the large liquid drops. The large nozzles are arranged on one side of an ink-supply opening and the medium and small nozzles are arranged on the other side of the ink-supply opening. The number of large nozzles is greater than the number of medium and small nozzles, and the liquid-discharge recording head performs high-speed printing using the large nozzles, high-speed photo printing using the medium and small nozzles, and high-quality photo printing using the small nozzles.
