    摘要: A process cartridge detachably mountable to an electrophotographic image forming apparatus main body includes an electrophotographic photosensitive member, a process device acting on the electrophotographic photosensitive member, a measuring electrode member disposed in a part contacting developer and provided with an input side electrode and an output side electrode having at least a pair of portions disposed in parallel with a fixed interval, a reference electrode member disposed in a part not contacting the developer and provided with an input side electrode and an output side electrode having at least a pair of portions disposed in parallel with a fixed interval, an output contact for a measuring electrode electrically connected to the output side electrode of the measuring electrode member, an output contact for a reference electrode electrically connected to the output side electrode of the reference electrode member, and an input contact electrically connected to the input side electrodes of the measuring electrode member and the reference electrode member. Values of the electrostatic capacitance respectively generated by the measuring electrode member and the reference electrode member are different when voltage is impressed on the measuring electrode member and the reference electrode member with the process cartridge inserted in the apparatus main body.

    摘要: An apparatus for detecting the amount of developer includes an agitation member for agitating developer contained in a developer container, and a detection member for detecting the position of the upper surface of the developer contained in the developer container, and interlocked with the agitating operation of the agitation member, the detection member is made movable above the upper surface of the developer. With the structure thus arranged, the remaining of the developer can be detected exactly even when the remaining developer become very small. Also, with the structure thus arranged, the operation of the detection member is finished in a position not to hinder the agitating operation of the agitation member, thus enabling the agitation member to continue its normal operation after the detection of the remaining developer is finished.

    摘要: A continuous process for the production of carbonaceous pitch, including heat-treating an aromatic heavy oil in a first thermal cracking zone for obtaining a first cracked product, and introducing the first cracked product into a second thermal cracking zone where it is thermally cracked by direct contact with a gaseous heat transfer medium to form distillable cracked components and a mesophase-containing pitch. The liquid phase in the second thermal cracking zone, including the mesophase-containing pitch, is discharged therefrom and separated into a mesophase-rich pitch and a matrix pitch having a low concentration of mesophase. The mesophase-rich pitch is recovered while at least a portion of the matrix pitch is recycled to the second thermal cracking zone. The distillable cracked components are stripped from the liquid phase in the second thermal cracking zone with the heat transfer medium, and the resulting gas phase is withdrawn overhead therefrom and then separated into a light fraction and a heavy fraction. The heavy fraction is fed to the first thermal cracking zone.

    摘要: A continuous process of producing carbonaceous pitch, including heat-treating an aromatic heavy oil for obtaining a first cracked product, and thermally cracking the first product in a cracking zone by direct contact with a gaseous heat transfer medium to obtain distillable cracked components and a mesophase-containing pitch. A first portion of the liquid phase in the cracking zone, including the mesophase-containing pitch, is separated into a mesophase-rich pitch and a matrix pitch having a low concentration of mesophase. The mesophase-rich pitch is recovered while at least a portion of the matrix pitch is recycled to the cracking zone. The distillable cracked components are withdrawn from the cracking zone and separated into light, middle and heavy fractions. At least a portion of the heavy fraction is heat treated and is recycled to the cracking zone. A least a portion of the middle fraction and/or a portion of the heavy fraction is hydrotreated to obtain a hydrogen-donating oil which is then reacted with a second portion of the liquid phase to hydrogenate the mesophase contained therein, the reaction product being recycled to the cracking zone.
