Abstract:
An electronic component has a substantially reduced size and is adapted to be produced at low costs without variation in superior quality of the component because of the ease of achieving electrical connection between a piezoelectric element and a electrode pattern on a substrate supporting the piezoelectric element. The piezoelectric element has a lower electrode formed on the lower surface thereof and an upper electrode formed on the upper surface thereof. The piezoelectric element is fixed to the substrate such that the lower electrode is bonded to an electrode provided on the substrate by a conductive adhesive. A conductive wire is fixed to the upper electrode of the piezoelectric element. A metallic cap is bonded to the substrate so as to cover and seal the piezoelectric element on the substrate. The cap is contacted at its inner surface by the wire, whereby an electrical connection is achieved between the cap and the upper electrode of the piezoelectric element. Input and output lead terminals are connected to the electrodes on the substrate, while a grounding lead terminal is connected to the cap.

Power supply apparatus includes a converter which converts a commercial AC voltage into a DC voltage. An inverter converts the DC voltage into a high frequency voltage. The high frequency voltage is voltage-transformed by a transformer, and then rectified and smoothed by a rectifier and a smoothing reactor into a DC voltage. This DC voltage is applied between a workpiece and a torch. A high frequency voltage generator generates a high frequency voltage and applies it to a primary winding of a coupling transformer. A boosted high frequency voltage is induced in a first secondary winding and applied between the workpiece and the torch, so that arcing is initiated. The coupling transformer includes a second secondary winding in which another high frequency voltage is induced. The high frequency voltage induced in the second secondary winding is converted into a DC voltage by a diode and a smoothing capacitor for application between the workpiece and the torch, so that the arcing is sustained.

The earth leakage breaker of the invention includes a first comparator; a second comparator connected to the first comparator; a third comparator having a threshold higher than the threshold of the first comparator for distinguishing a leakage current from the grounding current caused by a lightning surge or by the heavy ground fault; a monostable multivibrator triggered by the output of the third comparator for forming a time gate of a predetermined period; a counter for detecting a pulse outputted from the first comparator to distinguish whether the grounding current is caused by the lightning surge or by the heavy ground fault; and a trip signal generator circuit for outputting a trip signal in the case of leakage and heavy ground fault. The earth leakage breaker facilitates avoiding unnecessary breaking of the impulsive grounding current caused by the lightning surge.

A method of manufacturing an improved bipolar transistor or BiCMOS having a phosphorus-doped polysilicon emitter electrode is disclosed. The method comprises forming an emitter electrode wherein a phosphorus-doped amorphous silicon film is deposited at temperature not higher than 540.degree. C. and then subjected to low temperature annealing treatment at a temperature of 600.degree. C. to 750.degree. C., under which the amorphous silicon is converted to a polysilicon and the phosphorus present in the amorphous silicon film is diffused into a base region to form an emitter region, followed by high temperature/short time annealing treatment at a temperature of 900.degree. C. to 950.degree. C. so that an activation rate of an impurity in a boron-doped polysilicon base electrode or source-drain regions of MOS.cndot.FET is improved.

A power supply apparatus for arc-utilizing equipment includes a first converter for converting a received AC voltage to a DC voltage. An inverter converts the DC voltage to a high-frequency voltage, which is applied to a voltage-transformer with primary and second windings. A voltage-transformed high-frequency voltage induced in the secondary winding is converted to a DC voltage in a second converter, which is developed between two output terminals. The respective ones of the two output terminals are connected to a torch electrode of the arc-utilizing equipment and a workpiece. A bypass capacitor and a high-frequency voltage generator circuit are serially connected between the two output terminals. A control circuit controls the high-frequency voltage generator circuit and the inverter circuit. The bypass capacitor is connected directly between one of the two output terminals and the high-frequency voltage generator circuit.

A filter is provided for use with an in-tank fuel pump for an internal combustion engine. The filter is disposed within a fuel tank and includes a main filtration chamber connected to an inlet of the fuel pump and a return fuel chamber connected to the engine for introducing thereto return fuel from the engine. The main filtration chamber has an upper side peripheral wall formed from a meshed filter medium. The return fuel chamber is connected to the main filtration chamber in such a manner that the upper side peripheral wall of the main filtration chamber serves as a partition wall between the main filtration chamber and the return fuel chamber. In one embodiment, the return fuel chamber has a peripheral wall formed from sheet or plate impermeable to fluid. In another embodiment, the return fuel chamber has a peripheral wall formed from a meshed filter medium, the meshes of which are smaller than the meshes of the meshed filter medium from which the upper side peripheral wall of the main filtration chamber is formed.

The object of the present invention is to provide various scramble systems and equipments for embodying the scramble systems for omitting unqualified viewers in a pay TV system such as CATV.One of the scramble system according to the present invention is characterized in that a horizontal blanking interval and a video signal interval in at least one specified horizontal scanning line are shifted with respect to the time axis thereof to be transmitted in combination with other horizontal scanning lines in which no shifting operation is conducted. Another scramble system is characterized in that a horizontal line in which a horizontal blanking interval is deleted and the remained video signal interval is shifted within the time interval equal to the thus deleted horizontal blanking interval in addition to the above system. A further scramble system apart from these systems is characterized in that a pedestal part of a specified horizontal scanning line within a vertical blanking interval is compressed with respect to the time axis thereof, whereas a pedestal part of another desired horizontal scanning line within the same field is expanded for a time interval corresponding to the thus compressed pedestal part. And, a still further scramble system is characterized in that an audio signal as well as the video signal is also scrambled.

A heat-foamable crosslinked propylene resin composition in the form of a melt-shaped sheet structure comprising[1] 100 parts by weight of a crosslinked propylene resin composition obtained by mixing at least four components composed of (A) a propylene resin, (B) an olefin resin other than the resin (A), (C) a radical initiator and (D) a crosslinking agent, and[2] 0.5 to 5 parts by weight of a blowing agent; wherein(a) the propylene resin (A) is in an amount of 60 to 95 parts by weight per 100 parts by weight of the resins (A) and (B) combined, and has a melt flow rate (MFR) of 0.1 to 50 g/10 min., and(b) the alpha-olefin resin (B) is in an amount of 5 to 40 parts by weight per 100 parts by weight of the resins (A) and (B) combined, and is selected from the group consisting of a propylene random copolymer resin (B1) composed of 55 to 85 mole % of propylene and 15 to 45 mole % of an alpha-olefin with 4 to 20 carbon atoms and having an amount of heat of crystal fusion of 25 to 70 joules/g and a melt flow rate (MFR) of 0.05 to 20 g/10 min. and a 1-butene polymer or a 1-butene random copolymer resin (B2) composed of 70 to 100 mole % of 1-butene and 0 to 30 mole % of an alpha-olefin having 2, 3 or 5 to 20 carbon atoms and having an amount of heat of crystal fusion of 20 to 70 joules/g and a melt flow rate (MFR) of 0.05 to 50 g/10 min., and a process for producing the same.

A vaccine, comprising as antigen, at least a part of the cell of strains of Streptococcus sanguis having a high pathogenic potential and capable of decomposing raffinose and mellibiose, in association with a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier or excipient. Preferably, the antigen is derived from the pili-like structures on the surface layer of the cells. Antibodies produced by immunizing a mammal with said antigen to produce the corresponding antibodies in the body of said mammal and recovering the resultant antibodies from the mammal. A pharmaceutical composition, comprising as active ingredient said antibodies, in association with a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier or excipient. Said vaccine, antibodies and antibody-containing composition may be used for treating human and animal diseases caused or aggravated by said microorganisms such as MCLS. Preferably, the composition comprises antibodies produced by the use of antigen(s) derived from the pili-like structures, in association with a carrier or excipient suitable for oral administration. The preferred composition may be directly and safely administered to the oral cavity of humans and animals to prevent or at least inhibit the infection of the virullent strains with good results.

In a channel selecting device for a CATV terminal unit, a channel code table is stored in a ROM of the terminal unit, and only a code arrangement in the channel code table is written in a RAM, whereby the rewriting data is compressed, the time required for the data writing operation is reduced, and the area occupied by the RAM decreased.
