    摘要: The present invention provides methods for treating Cryptococcus neoformans, Cryptosporidium parvum, and Candida albicans in a subject in need of such treatment. The methods comprises administering to the subject a compound of Formula I: ##STR1## wherein: X is located in the para or meta positions and is loweralkyl, loweralkoxy, alkoxyalkyl, hydroxyalkyl, aminoalkyl, alkylaminoalkyl, cycloalkyl, aryl, alkylaryl, halogen, or ##STR2## wherein: each R.sub.2 is independently selected from the group consisting of H, loweralkyl, alkoxyalkyl, hydroxyalkyl, aminoalkyl, alkylaminoalkyl, cycloalkyl, aryl, or alkylaryl or two R.sub.2 groups together represent C.sub.2 -C.sub.10 alkylene, or two R.sub.2 groups together represent ##STR3## wherein m is from 1-3 and R.sub.4 is H, ##STR4## or --CONHR.sub.5 NR.sub.6 R.sub.7, whereinR.sub.5 is loweralkyl, R.sub.6 and R.sub.7 are each independently selected from the group consisting of H and lower alkyl; each R.sub.8 is independently selected from the group consisting of H, loweralkyl, alkoxyalkyl, hydroxyalkyl, aminoalkyl, alkylaminoalkyl, cycloalkyl, aryl, or alkylaryl, or two R.sub.8 groups together represent C.sub.2 -C.sub.10 alkylene; R.sub.9 is H, hydroxy, loweralkyl, alkoxyalkyl, hydroxyalkyl, aminoalkyl, alkylaminoalkyl, cycloalkyl, aryl, or alkylaryl;R.sub.3 is H, hydroxy, loweralkyl, alkoxyalkyl, hydroxyalkyl, aminoalkyl, alkylaminoalkyl, cycloalkyl, aryl, or alkylaryl;R.sub.1 is H, loweralkyl, alkoxyalkyl, hydroxyalkyl, aminoalkyl, alkylaminoalkyl, cycloalkyl, aryl, alkylaryl, or halogen; or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof.

    摘要: An acyclic alkane soluble anionic polymerization initiator includes a mixture of from about 90 to about 10 parts by weight of a lithio amine having the general formula A.sub.1 Li and from about 10 to about 90 parts by weight of at least one other lithio amine having the general formula A.sub.2 Li. A.sub.1 and A.sub.2 are selected from the dialkyl, alkyl, cycloalkyl and dicycloalkyl amine radicals and cyclic amine radicals. There is also provided a method of forming a mixture of anionic polymerization initiators, a functionalized polymer and a method of forming a functionalized polymer.

    摘要: Thermoplastic elastomer blends of alpha-olefin polymers and copolymers, such as polypropylene, polyethylene, etc., having a melting point of at least 90.degree. C. with hydrogenated butadiene medium and high vinyl polymers have good physical properties such as low brittle point, good impact resistance at low temperatures, minimum creep at high temperatures, and good elongation. The blends can be repeatedly processed and still maintain good physical properties. The amount of alpha-olefin polymer or copolymer in the blend may range from about 10 percent to about 60 percent with the amount of the hydrogenated polybutadiene correspondingly ranging from about 90 percent to about 40 percent based on the combined weight of the two components. The blends are mixed at temperatures at least as high as the melting point of the alpha-olefin polymer or copolymer. These blends have excellent ozone resistance and aging properties, as well as excellent paint adhesion.

    摘要: A method of producing an engineered plastic selected from the group consisting of high impact polystyrene, styrene-maleic anhydride copolymer, methylmethacrylate-butadiene-styrene copolymer, transparent impact polystyrene, and acrylonitrile butadiene styrene copolymer is provided. The method comprises the steps of: (a) adding a polymer containing at least one high vinyl segment having a 1,2-vinyl bond content of greater than 45% to a solvent comprising at least one vinyl monomer; (b) optionally adding at least one additional inert solvent; (c) optionally adding additives selected from the group consisting of extender oils, modifiers, and antioxidants; and (d) initiating polymerization of the at least one vinyl monomer by the use of an initiator and/or heat, wherein the presence of the at least one high vinyl segment in the polymer allows direction of the grafting site during preparation of the engineered plastic.
