摘要: An extracellular matrix (ECM) mixture and ECM scaffolds made with same are disclosed. The ECM mixture can comprise from about 5% to about 85% by weight of ECM material and from about 15% to about 95% by weight of a polymer material, such as, but not limited to, a biodegradable polyester. The presently disclosed anatomically-shaped porous ECM scaffolds can be formed, for example, using a three-dimensional (3D) printing process, an injection molding process, or any other process.

摘要: A process for autonomous mechanical property testing of specimens on a build plate includes fabricating a plurality of the specimens on a build plate, wherein each of the specimens comprises an upper portion and a lower portion integral to the build plate. Each of the upper portions of the specimens on the build plate are sequentially engaged with an end effector on a terminal end of a multi-linked robotic arm, wherein the end effector is configured to engage the upper portion and apply a uni- or multi-modal load, wherein intermediate the end effector and the multi-linked robotic arm comprises a multi-axis load cell for measuring an applied load. The process further includes autonomously calculating one or more mechanical properties from the applied load.

摘要: The present disclosure relates to a method of enzymatically repairing RNAs that are nicked or at least partially cleaved. The method comprises providing a biological sample containing RNAs that are nicked or at least partially cleaved; purifying the nicked or at least partially cleaved RNAs contained in the biological sample, under a non-denaturing condition, to remove non-RNA components; and treating the purified RNAs with at least one of the following: (i) one or more enzymes that exhibit the activity of an RNA 3′ phosphatase or cyclic phosphatase and the activity of an RNA 5′ kinase, and an RNA ligase, or (ii) a 3′-5′ RNA ligase, thereby forming repaired RNAs from the nicked or at least partially cleaved RNA. The present disclosure also relates to a method of detecting RNAs by enzymatically repairing RNAs that are nicked or at least partially cleaved, and detecting the repaired RNAs.

摘要: Contaminate-sequestering coatings including a network of hydrolyzed silane compounds including a plurality of thiol functional groups, a plurality of fluorinated functionalities, or both are provided. The contaminate-sequestering coatings may sequester one or more per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), heavy metals, biological species or any combination thereof. Methods of functionalizing a substrate surface with contaminate-sequestering functionalities that sequester one or more PFAS, heavy metals, or both are also provided. Methods of removing contaminants from contaminate-containing liquids, and devices including the contaminate-sequestering coatings are also provided.

More specifically, the present invention provides methods and compositions useful for the treatment of cancer characterized by TERT and BRAF mutations. In a specific embodiment, a method for treating a mutant telomerase reverse trancriptase (TERT) enzyme-associated cancer in a subject comprises the step of administering to the subject an anti-cancer agent that inhibits one or more of FOS, GABPB, the formation of the GABPA-GABPB complex or the binding of the GABPA-GABPB complex to a mutant TERT promoter.

摘要: Provided are systems, compositions and methods that useful in any setting where generating and tracking light is used. The systems, methods and compositions contain as a component flexible, transparent membrane-based materials that include light emitting diodes (LEDs). The LEDs can include or be formed from colloidal quantum dots (CQDs) as an active layer. The CQDs can be formed from solution-processed semiconductor nanocrystals. They have a tunable band gap energy that can be readily tuned by adjusting the size of the nanocrystals. Transparent membrane-based LED arrays exhibit emission wavelength that can be tuned anywhere in the range of 800-2000 nm. The LEDs are highly transparent in the visible wavelength range with the exception of the CQD active layer. The CQD-based LEDs are components of any device or system wherein generating and/or tracking reflected light is utilized, such as in tracing the location and movement of a living individual, or an inanimate object. Also provided are garments used in movement tracking, and imaging devices, which include cameras and microscopes, and systems for volume capture, body motion tracking, eye tracking systems and devices, motion capture systems, simulcam technologies, computer generated characters, holograms, eye wear, such as glasses, goggles, and virtual reality headsets, and medical devices that involve imaging, such as devices that involve imaging of the eye for diagnosing and/or treating eye disorders.
