Abstract: The disclosure relates to a content selection system for enabling a user device on the move to utilize content associated with an entity located ahead of the user device. The content selection system determines a current position and travel direction of the user device, determines a current travel remainder for moving along a travel route from the current position to the entity located ahead of the user device, based on stored geographical location associated with the entity. The content selection system compares the travel remainder to a maximum threshold value associated with the entity. The content selection system enables content associated with the entity to be utilized by the user device, when the travel remainder is equal to or lower than the maximum threshold value. The disclosure also relates to a user device comprising at least a portion of the content selection system.

Abstract: A navigational aid including an intelligent display mode and a communication system communicates with a vehicle's sensor system and/or historical- or time-based information to reduce the number of businesses that are displayed on the map by filtering out unneeded or less preferred services. When the vehicle's fuel level sensor detects that the fuel tank is almost empty, a message can be sent from the sensor system to the navigational aid such that the navigational aid can then begin showing a visual indication (e.g., text or graphical information such as an icon) of the location of fuel stations on the screen. Additionally, the location receiver indicates to the filter when the navigational aid is close to the programmed destination. At that point, the filter can be informed that it should start showing garages or areas where the vehicle can be parked without having cluttered the screen with parking garages that were not close to the destination. Similarly, when in need of other services (e.g., hotel or restaurant services), the navigational aid can display preferred brands (while omitting non-preferred brands) and make reservations when a communication system is included which is capable of communicating with the service provider. Additionally, prices or relative prices for the services may also be indicated.

Abstract: A use index IDX indicative of a degree of use of external charging is calculated and transmitted to a vehicle external system. The vehicle external system provides a service or imposes a penalty based on the use index IDX. In a case where the degree of use of external charging is determined to be low based on the use index IDX, if the vehicle external system provides a non-preferential service or imposes a heavy penalty as compared with a case where the degree of use of external charging is determined to be high, a driver or an owner of a vehicle takes an action by which the use index is determined to indicate, a high degree of use of external charging. As a result, the use of external charging can be promoted.

Abstract: Computer-implemented methods and systems of displaying location entity information associated with the current geographic location of a mobile device include obtaining data indicative of a current geographic location of the mobile device and providing map imagery of a geographic area associated with such current location. A first interface element is provided for display on the map imagery at a location indicative of the current geographic location of the mobile device. A location entity is determined as a best match from a list of nearby location entities and a second interface element providing information about the determined location entity is provided for display on the map imagery. Data indicative of user selection of one or more of the first and second interface elements can be received. Upon selection, a separate display area including information about the determined location entity is automatically provided for display.
