Abstract:
A dispensing system that includes a bottle, a valve cap, a dosing cap. The bottle includes a side wall having at least a portion that is flexible. The valve cap regulates the dispensing of a flowable product from bottle into the dosing cap. In particular, flowable product may be dispensed from the bottle into the dosing cap when the dispensing system is in an inverted position and while the dosing cap is attached to valve cap. The valve cap and the dosing cap may support the dispensing system in the inverted position.
Abstract:
One or more electroactive polymer (EAP) strips are circumferentially or lengthwise embedded or mounted around the fluid passage member. The EAP strips change electrical characteristics (e.g., capacitance, resistance) independent of an applied actuation as they are stretched, so they may be used to measure fluid pressure and/or fluid flow rate.
Abstract:
A coupling element for an ultrasonic transducer, which comprises a first recess provided for the arrangement of a piezoelectric element and comprising a terminal base surface in which an ultrasound signal generated by the piezoelectric element can be fed into the coupling element. The coupling element comprising inside the first recess one or a plurality of stops, each of which comprises at least one stop surface which extends along a plane, the plane extending parallel to the base surface of the first recess, and there being defined between this plane and the base surface a space for accommodating material for an acoustic adaptation layer. The invention further concerns an ultrasonic transducer and an ultrasonic flow meter.
Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a flow sensor that makes it possible to detect temperature abnormalities that the flow sensor has been exposed to and the time history of the flow sensor in a high-temperature environment from an externally visible cover material and that uses a cover material for which the laser welding quality can be guaranteed through visual inspection when the sensor is delivered as a product and even if the sensor is used in an abnormal state. A flow sensor provided with a housing, a cover, a circuit chamber that houses a wiring portion sealed between the housing and the cover, and an auxiliary passage through which the liquid to be sensed flows, wherein: a joint portion formed on the housing and a joint portion formed on the inner surface of the cover are joined together through the laser welding; the main material of the cover is a crystalline resin; the cover includes an amorphous alloy; and the cover is made to have a natural color.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to flow measurement, and more particularly, to a system for measuring a flow rate by three-dimensionally crossing a plurality of sidings each other within a conduit. An ultrasonic flow measurement system according to the present invention determines a flow central part of fluid by three-dimensionally crossing the plurality of sidings each other within the conduit in three dimensions and calculates a flow rate flowing in the conduit, meeting the flow central part, thereby more accurately measuring the flow rate than the existing method.
Abstract:
To obtain a thermal flow meter capable of providing thermal insulation without degrading responsiveness of a temperature detection element. A thermal flow meter 300 of the present invention includes an air flow sensing portion 602 that detects a flow rate by performing heat transfer with a measurement target gas passing through the main passage 124 using a heat transfer surface, a temperature detection element 518 that detects a temperature of the measurement target gas, a circuit package 400 obtained by connecting a processing unit 604 that processes signals of the air flow sensing portion 602 and the temperature detection element 518 to a lead and sealing the processing unit 604 using a first molding resin through a first molding process, and a housing 302 where the circuit package 400 is fixed using a second molding resin through a second molding process, wherein, in the circuit package 400, a thickness of a temperature detecting portion 452 for sealing the temperature detection element 518 is thinner than that of a package body portion 426 for sealing the processing unit 604.
Abstract:
One or more electroactive polymer (EAP) strips are circumferentially or lengthwise embedded or mounted around the fluid passage member. The EAP strips are configured to function as a pump when a prescribed electrical charge is applied and removed from the EAP strips, which causes the EAP strips to expand and constrict accordingly. A series of these strips may be mounted along a portion of the fluid passage member and electrically actuated in a prescribed manner to exert a squeezing force around the fluid passage member, which functions to pump fluid through the fluid passage member. The EAP strips also change electrical characteristics (e.g., capacitance, resistance) independent of the applied actuation as they are stretched, so they may be used to measure fluid pressure and/or fluid flow rate.
Abstract:
A system and method for corrosion protection of measuring electrodes in electromagnetic flowmeters, wherein a respective constant direct current is generated by a current source for first and second metallic measuring electrodes provided on opposite sides of a measuring tube, and the constant direct current is passed from the current source to the first and second metallic measuring electrodes, where the constant direct current passed to each metallic measuring electrode is established to lower the electrode potential of a respective measuring electrode with respect to the medium below a threshold value to render the respective metallic measuring electrode immune to corrosion with respect to a medium.
Abstract:
A flowmeter that includes a moulded housing delimiting a measuring chamber; a rotatable measuring body having a rotatable shaft extending across the measuring chamber; and point bearings for mounting and positioning opposite extremities of the rotatable shaft in the housing. Each point bearing is formed of a protruding part and a cooperating facing counter-part part, in particular a recessed part, associated, respectively, with the housing and an extremity of the rotatable shaft, or vice versa. This protruding part and its counter-part are integrally formed with their associated moulded housing and rotatable shaft.
