Abstract: A method to enable a vehicle's embedded USB Host system to connect to multiple mobile devices through a USB Hub, regardless of whether the mobile devices are configured to function as USB Hosts or USB Devices, without USB On the Go (OTG) controllers or additional vehicle wiring or inhibiting the functionality of any consumer devices connected to the same USB Hub. Preferably, the method is configured to provide no additional cabling or hardware changes to accommodate this capability. The method can be employed between a vehicle's embedded USB Host, USB Hub and at least one consumer accessible USB port. When the consumer device is acting as a USB Host, signals between the consumer device and the vehicle's embedded USB Host are processed through a USB bridge, thereby rendering the consumer device compatible with the vehicle's embedded USB Host.

Abstract: A health exposure sensor system includes a housing, a monitoring platform in the housing, and a power source. The monitoring platform includes at least one modular gas sensor, a circuit board having a microcontroller, and data ports for connecting the modular gas sensor to the circuit board. The housing includes manifolds to direct atmospheric air to the modular gas sensor. The modular gas sensor includes a gas detector and a gas sensor circuit board having a gas sensor microcontroller. The gas sensor microcontroller includes at least one on-chip universal asynchronous receiver-transmitter peripheral and at least one on-chip USB peripheral, where both peripherals include input/output functionality and are connected to a single data port interface for external communication. An associated method of operating the same includes selectively enabling individually either the UART peripheral or the USB peripheral via digital I/O configuration of the microcontroller.

Abstract: A multi-port power supply device and an operation method thereof are provided. The multi-port power supply device includes multiple USB ports, multiple power converters, and a common control circuit. When an adjustment trend of an agreement power of a first USB port will make the agreement power greater than a rated minimum charging power of a USB device connected to the first USB port, the common control circuit dynamically changes the agreement power according to an actual output power of the first USB port. When the adjustment trend of the agreement power will make the agreement power less than the rated minimum charging power, the common control circuit does not change the agreement power, and the common control circuit dynamically transfers a power difference between the agreement power and the actual output power to other USB ports.

Abstract: Data storage devices, methods, and systems for passcode authentication based on automatically generated and dynamically changing unlock passcodes are described. An access controller of a data storage device is configured to receive a first passcode based on an externally generated input passcode that is synchronized with internal generation of an unlock passcode by the access controller. The access controller generates a second passcode based on the internally generated unlock passcode, and unlocking the data storage device is responsive to the first passcode matching the second passcode.

Abstract: A multiport USB-PD adaptor including a flyback-converter, a USB controller including a USB-PD subsystem and buck-controller, and multiple buck and bypass-circuits, and methods for operating the same are provided. Generally, the adaptor is operated in a buck-bypass-mode, in which at least one buck-circuit is bypassed and the flyback-converter is operated to generate an input voltage (VIN) to the buck-circuits equal to a requested output voltage (VOUT_C), which is then coupled directly to the associated port. Buck-circuits coupled to other active ports can also be bypassed if the requested VOUT_Cs are the same, or the buck-circuits operated to provide another VOUT_C. If a bypass-circuit unavailable, the adaptor is operated in a variable-buck-input-mode by determining a highest VOUT_C requested on any port and setting VIN to a sum of the highest VOUT_C and an offset voltage. Buck-circuits coupled to active ports are then operated to provide the requested output voltages.
