摘要: Catalyst articles having a first zone containing a first SCR catalyst and a second zone containing an ammonia slip catalyst (ASC), where the ammonia slip catalyst contains a second SCR catalyst and an oxidation catalyst, and the ASC has DOC functionality, where the first zone is located on the inlet side of the substrate and the second zone is located in the outlet side of the substrate are disclosed. The catalytic articles are useful for selective catalytic reduction (SCR) of NOx in exhaust gases, in reducing the amount of ammonia slip and in oxidizing organic residues. Exhaust systems containing the catalyst articles and methods of using the catalytic articles in an SCR process, where the amount of ammonia slip is reduced and hydrocarbon are oxidized by the ASC catalyst, are also described.

摘要: In a process for the removal of hydrogen chloride and/or sulfur oxides from a landfill gas stream, which contains impurities such as siloxanes, H2S, organic and inorganic sulfides and volatile organic compounds (VOCs), the heated gas is passed through a siloxane removal bed, where siloxanes are absorbed and then through one or more sulfur removal beds, where hydrogen sulfide and/or organic sulfides are absorbed. The effluent is passed through a reactor containing an oxidation catalyst enabling catalytic oxidation of VOCs, organic and inorganic CI- and/or S-containing compounds, COS and CS2 to their respective combustion products, and finally the effluent from the reactor is passed through one or more beds, where hydrogen chloride and/or sulfur oxides are absorbed.

摘要: Disclosed is a method for purifying an organic compound, comprising the steps of (i) providing a crystalline sample of organic compound having a first impurity level, (ii) adding a catalyst to the sample, (iii) heating a portion of the sample to a temperature at or above melting point of the organic compound so as to create a molten zone of the sample, (iv) moving application of heat down the length of the sample, such that the molten zone is moved along the length of the sample, (v) collecting molten material at an end of the sample, (vi) optionally grinding the sample back to a powder, (vii) repeating steps (i)-(iv) at least two more times, and (viii) obtaining a purified sample having a second impurity level, which is lower than the first impurity level, wherein the organic compound is a nutraceutical selected from the group consisting of vinpocetine, huperzine, astragalosides, HEPPS buffer, curcumin, piperine, uridine, capsaicin and kinetin.

摘要: A cell includes: a membrane electrode assembly; and a pair of separators. The membrane electrode assembly includes a polymer electrolyte membrane, an anode catalyst layer on a first main surface of the polymer electrolyte membrane, and a cathode catalyst layer on a second main surface. The anode catalyst layer contains a first catalyst material having activity against a hydrogen oxidation reaction and a first electrically conductive material whose electrical resistance under a hydrogen atmosphere and under an oxygen atmosphere are different from each other. The cathode catalyst layer contains a second catalyst material having activity against an oxygen reduction reaction and a second electrically conductive material different from the first electrically conductive material. An electrical resistance of the cell when the anode catalyst layer is under oxygen atmosphere is more than twice the electrical resistance of the cell when the anode catalyst layer is under hydrogen atmosphere.

摘要: The exhaust gas-purifying catalyst of the invention includes a noble metal, and crystallites that form CZ composite metal particles which serve as a carrier supporting the noble metal and contain at least zirconium (Zr) and cerium (Ce). The CZ composite oxide particles (crystallites) further contain crystal growth-suppressing fine particles which are fine metal particles comprising primarily a metallic element M that melts at 1,500° C. or above and which suppress crystal growth by the CZ composite oxide particles. The content of the metallic element M included in the CZ composite oxide particles, expressed in terms of the oxide thereof, is 0.5 mol % or less of the total oxide.

摘要: Provided is an ammonia slip catalyst article having supported palladium in a top or upstream layer for oxidation of carbon monoxide and/or hydrocarbons, an SCR catalyst either in the top layer or in a separate lower or downstream layer, and an ammonia oxidation catalyst in a bottom layer. Also provided are methods for treating an exhaust gas using the catalyst article, wherein the treatment involves reducing the concentrations of ammonia and optionally carbon monoxide and/or hydrocarbons in the exhaust gas.
