Abstract: There is proposed a toric air bag for a safety tire capable of sufficiently and equally contacting with a full inner face of a tire in the expansion-deformation of the toric air bag by a drop of an internal pressure in the tire, wherein at least an expansion-deforming portion of the toric air bag having a hollow torus shape as a whole is constructed with a tension support member, and to the expansion-deforming portion is given a property indicating a characteristic of extension ratio-tensile force that tensile force per unit width is substantially and gradually increased with the increase of elongation through the expansion-deformation.

Abstract: A tire for an automotive vehicle is described comprising both left and right exterior and interior sidewalls. The space between the respective sidewalls forms two additional tire chambers that are in fluid communication with the tire's primary chamber. Each of the exterior sidewalls include a downwardly facing portion with a treaded outside surface that is canted at an acute angle relative to the primary tread portion such that the treaded outside surfaces do not generally touch the road surface when the vehicle is traveling straight or turning at a low rate of speed. However, when turning at high speed or during hard cornering, one of the treaded surfaces of each depending on the direction of the turn contacts the road surface as the tire deforms and rolls thereby increasing the tire's foot print with the road and consequently the handling capability of the vehicle.

Abstract: In the present invention, an outer tire is supported and positioned by an auxiliary inner tire such that air can be pumped into the space between the inner and outer tires. When there is a flat tire or leakage, the outer tire is supported by the inner tire and still has an appropriate support to the car, and thus the outer tire will not be compressed completely or grinded by the rim of the wheel, so that the tire will not be damaged easily and the auxiliary inner tire can continue running for a short time.

Abstract: A control circuit for controlling the pressure of a wheel enclosing a first volume and a second volume includes a controlled pressure line, a first line, connectable to the controlled pressure line and connected to the first volume for introducing air inside the first volume, and a second line, connectable to the controlled pressure line and connected to the second volume for introducing air inside the second volume. The control circuit further includes a first spool valve, which is a three way-two positions valve, having a first position in which the controlled pressure line is connected to the first line, and a second position, in which the controlled pressure line is connected to the second line. The first spool valve switches from the first position to the second position if the pressure in the first volume exceeds a predetermined pressure.
