    摘要: The invention provides a heat-shrinkable film that has (1) a glass transition temperature (Tg) of 90-140° C.; (2) shrinkage of 12% or less in a main shrinkage direction when treated in glycerin at 80° C. for 10 seconds; (3) shrinkage of 12% or less in a direction orthogonal to the main shrinkage direction when treated in glycerin at 140° C. for 10 seconds; (4) shrinkage of 30%-80% in the main shrinkage direction when treated in glycerin at 140° C. for 10 seconds; (5) a tensile elongation at break of 10% or more both in the main shrinkage direction and the orthogonal direction after aging of 672 hours at 50° C. and 70% RH; and (6) a difference of 5% or less between shrinkage at 140° C. in the main shrinkage direction after aging of 672 hours at 50° C. and 70% RH, and shrinkage at 140° C. in the main shrinkage direction before the aging.

    摘要: The present invention is a method of applying a heat activated transfer to a cloth substrate. The transfer includes a thermoplastic adhesive layer and printed thereon a thermoset ink layer. The thermoset ink layer is discontinuous leaving exposed areas of thermoplastic material. The transfer is applied by setting the thermoplastic layer against a substrate, such as a cloth shirt, placing a piece of blotting paper or other absorbent material above the transfer in contact with the thermoset layer and applying heat and pressure forcing the thermoplastic material to melt. The thermoplastic material which contacts the blotting material is absorbed by the blotting paper whereas the thermoplastic material covered with the thermoset ink absorbs into the substrate bonding the thermoset ink to the substrate providing an emblem or the like. The invention also includes the article itself which is a heat activated transfer including a continuous thermoplastic layer and a discontinuous thermoset layer leaving voids in between the portions of the thermoset material.

    摘要: This disclosure relates to a machine for applying indicia, preferably decalcomanias (decals), to felts that form part of tennis balls. A stack of the felts is placed in the machine, and a destacking mechanism separates each felt from the stack and places them on a conveyor which moves the felts to a decal applicating machine. After a decal is applied to each felt, the conveyor moves the felts to a restacking mechanism which lifts the felts off the conveyor and restacks them. The machine is preferably equipped to handle the felts in pairs in order to double the speed of operation.
