The invention provides a biaxially oriented polyester film, which exhibits excellent transparency, is easily subjected to secondary processing, and is produced using a polyester resin obtained without using an antimony compound as a polymerization catalyst, and a production method therefor. At least one surface of the biaxially oriented polyester film meets requirements (1) to (4): (1) a number of fine protrusions each having a height of less than 3 nm per area of 4×10−12 m2 is 250 or more and 600 or less; (2) a number of fine protrusions each having a height of 3 nm or more per area of 4×10−12 m2 is 300 or more and 600 or less; (3) an arithmetic mean height Sa is 0.010 μm or more and 0.025 μm or less; and (4) an antimony content in the film is 10 ppm or less.

Disclosed is a biaxially oriented polyester film that is excellent in adhesiveness with a metal layer etc. and excellent in deep drawability for an isotropic shape, such as a square shape. A biaxially oriented polyester film having at least a base layer and an adhesive layer each of which contains a polyester as a main component, the film satisfying the following requirements (1) to (3): (1) a difference between reversible heat capacity difference (ΔCp) at around glass transition temperatures of the adhesive layer and the base layer is not smaller than 0.10 and not larger than 0.45; (2) a molecular orientation ratio measured by using a molecular orientation meter is not lower than 1.0 and not higher than 1.2; and (3) a stress at 10% elongation (F10) in each of a machine and transverse direction is not lower than 90 MPa and not higher than 160 MPa.

The present invention aims to provide a heat-shrinkable polyester film roll having decreased generation of wrinkles or longitudinal shrink mark. The present invention provides a film roll of a heat shrinkable polyester film, wherein a polyester of the polyester film contains recycled raw material from a PET bottle and an acid component of the polyester comprises isophthalic acid, and the film roll satisfies a specific average value of a shrinkage, specific isophthalic acid ratio, and specific thickness unevenness.

The invention provides a sealant film that is less likely to adsorb components formed of various types of organic compounds, has excellent heat sealing characteristics at 140° C., while having low heat sealing strength at 100° C. and being less likely for heat sealing layers to adhere to each other even when the film is used as a packaging bag and the content thereof is warmed in boiling water. The sealant film has at least one heat sealing layer consisting of a polyester component, wherein a heat sealing strength of the heat sealing layer being heat sealed to another heat sealing layer at 100° C. and 0.2 MPa for 2 seconds is 0-5 N/15 mm and at 140° C. and 0.2 MPa for 2 seconds is 8-30 N/15 mm, and a film density including all layers is 1.20 or more and less than 1.39.

The invention provides a heat-shrinkable polyester-based film containing 90 mol % or more of ethylene terephthalate unit based on 100 mol % of whole ester unit, wherein at least a part of ethylene glycol and/or terephthalic acid constituting the ethylene terephthalate unit is derived from biomass resource or the heat-shrinkable polyester-based film contains polyester resin recycled from PET bottles, and the heat-shrinkable polyester-based film satisfies the requirements: (1) heat-shrinkage ratio in a width direction measured by shrinking the film for 10 seconds in 90° C. hot water is 50%-75%, (2) heat-shrinkage ratio in a longitudinal direction measured by shrinking the film for 10 seconds in 90° C. hot water is −6% or more and 14% or less, (3) heat-shrinkage ratio in the longitudinal direction measured by shrinking the film for 10 seconds in 70° C. hot water is −6% or more and 6% or less, and (4) irregularity of thickness in the width direction is 1%-20%.

The invention provides a heat-shrinkable polyester film which has heat shrinkage properties in a main shrinkage direction that is the longitudinal direction, in which a variation in shrinkage in the width direction is small in the width direction, and wrinkles and strains are less likely to be generated at the time of shrinkage finishing due to a small molecular orientation angle. The heat-shrinkable polyester film is characterized by (1) a hot-water shrinkage of 50% or more in a main shrinkage direction when treated for 10 seconds in water at 98° C.; (2) a variation of hot-water shrinkages in a direction orthogonal to the main shrinkage direction for samples treated for 10 seconds in water at 98° C. of 5% or less; (3) an absolute value of a molecular orientation angle of 15 degrees or less; and (4) a refractive index difference between the main shrinking and orthogonal directions of 0.06 or more.

The invention provides a heat-shrinkable polyester-based film comprising ethylene terephthalate units, constituent units derived from at least one monomer which forms an amorphous component, and constituent units derived from butanediol. The amount of the constituent units derived from at least one monomer which forms an amorphous component is 18 mol % or more, and the amount of the constituent units derived from butanediol is 1 to 25 mol % based on 100 mol % of all polyester resin components. The heat-shrinkable polyester-based film is characterized by particular values for the secondary shrinkage ratio of the film, the hot-water heat shrinkage ratio of the film, and the reversing heat capacity difference before and after the glass transition temperature of the film.

The invention provides a polyester film for sealant use. The polyester film contains a polyester resin having ethylene terephthalate as a main structural component and including one or more monomer components that may serve as amorphous components so that the total amount of the monomer components are not less than 12 mol % and not more than 30 mol % among total monomer components. The polyester film is uniaxially or biaxially stretched, and has a particular heat-sealing strength and crystal melting heat capacity. The invention also provides a laminate including as at least one layer of the polyester film for sealant use, as well as a packaging bag that utilizes the laminate.
