摘要: A contamination control mat 10 comprising a support layer 16 which is coated on a top surface with a polymeric contamination control layer 17, wherein the support layer 16 comprises a glass fiber reinforced polymer that is printed on a top surface, the polymeric contamination control layer 17 is transparent or translucent, and the printed surface is visible through the polymeric contamination control layer. This provides a thin yet rigid and stable mat 10 that can also display printed information that is protected from damage. The mat 10 is primarily used to meet contamination control needs.

摘要: An active optical fibre, including: a core; an inner cladding substantially surrounding the core, whereby the core and the inner cladding form an area configured to propagate pump radiation; an outer cladding comprised of at least a third material with at least a third refractive index substantially surrounding the inner cladding, the third refractive index being smaller than the second refractive index, whereby the outer cladding confines pump radiation to the core and the inner cladding; and a coating comprised of a thermally conductive material substantially surrounding the outer cladding, wherein the inner cladding is configured to reduce impact of spatial hole-burning on absorption of the pump radiation as the pump radiation propagates through the active optical fibre, and wherein the thermally conductive material of the coating supports a reduced temperature increase between the area and an outer surface of the coating.

摘要: The invention relates to a method for producing a composite from inorganic substances and binders on the basis of silane. The inventive method is characterized by the use of one or more silicon compounds of the general formula (1) as the binder, wherein R represents groups that are the same or different and that cannot be hydrolytically cleaved, and wherein X represents one or more hydroxyl groups or one or more hydrolytically cleavable groups that are the same or different, and n is a number between 0 and 3, preferably between 1 and 2. Said silicon compounds have been previously condensed with understoichiometric amounts of water per mole silicon compound in the presence of alkaline or acidic catalysts. The inorganic substances used are bundles or strands of glass and/or mineral fibers onto which the precondensed silicon compounds have been sprayed in amounts of from 1 to 20% by weight, preferably together with overstoichiometric amounts of water. The strands or bundles so treated are then brought into their final shape and are deformed or compressed to give shaped bodies.
