摘要: A method for calculating a tension (T) in a towed antenna. The method includes towing the antenna in water, wherein the antenna includes plural particle motion sensors distributed along the antenna; measuring with the plural particle motion sensors vibrations that propagate along the antenna; calculating a value of a phase velocity (vp) of the vibrations that propagate along the antenna based on (1) an offset between two particle motion sensors and (2) a time delay of the vibrations that propagate from one of the two particle motion sensors to another one of the two particle motion sensors; selecting a relation that links the phase velocity (vp) to the tension (T); and using the value of the phase velocity and the relation to determine the tension (T) at various locations of the plural particle motion sensors along the antenna.

摘要: A marine seismic streamer comprising a solid, hydrophobic core member that is encased in a hydrophobic streamer skin/casing. The hydrophobic streamer skin may be extruded onto and/or heat welded to the hydrophobic core member. The hydrophobic streamer skin/casing may comprise a thermoplastic polyurethane that includes fluorine and/or silicon moieties, silicon, polydimethylsiloxane or the like. The hydrophobic streamer skin/casing may reduce the drag of the streamer and may provide anti-biofouling properties to the streamer. A hydrophobic paint, coating or polymer may in some instances be disposed on top of the hydrophobic streamer skin/casing.

摘要: Presented are methods and systems for collecting marine seismic data. The collected seismic data can be low frequency (e.g., less than 10 Hz) or it can be a full seismic bandwidth (1-200 Hz) depending on if the low frequency tuned sources and tuned receivers are combined with conventional sources and receivers. The low frequency sources can be towed or they can be autonomous and positioned in the survey area by tether, drifting or self-propelled. The tuned low frequency receivers are towed at a depth greater than conventional receivers and the sources can be fired independently or simultaneously.

The unmanned vehicles may consist of a master vehicle and one or more slave vehicles, wherein the master vehicle commands the one or more slave vehicles.

摘要: Various examples are provided for land streamer seismic surveying using multiple sources. In one example, among others, a method includes disposing a land streamer in-line with first and second shot sources. The first shot source is at a first source location adjacent to a proximal end of the land streamer and the second shot source is at a second source location separated by a fixed length corresponding to a length of the land streamer. Shot gathers can be obtained when the shot sources are fired. In another example, a system includes a land streamer including a plurality of receivers, a first shot source located adjacent to the proximal end of the land streamer, and a second shot source located in-line with the land streamer and the first shot source. The second shot source is separated from the first shot source by a fixed overall length corresponding to the land streamer.

摘要: It is proposed a method for monitoring an electrical power supply line comprised in a seismic cable and extending along the seismic cable. The seismic cable includes: a plurality of seismic sensors arranged along the seismic cable, a plurality of controllers arranged along the seismic cable, and an optical transmission line extending along the seismic cable for carrying data signals from or towards the controllers. The electrical power supply line supplies at least one pair of master and slave controllers. The master controller of a given pair of master and slave controllers performs a step of monitoring a portion of the electrical power supply line between the master and slave controllers, by using an optical loop established on a portion of the optical transmission line between the master and slave controllers, and starting from the master controller and passing through the slave controller.
