    摘要: System and method for processing received packets. A QuickNak (QN) packet may be received. The QN packet may include a segmentation and reassembly (SAR) packet. The SAR packet may be delivered to a SAR receiver and it may be determined if there are missing packets, e.g., after delivery of the SAR packet. If there are missing packets, a QN indication may be generated and provided to the SAR receiver. Alternatively, the SAR receiver may receive the SAR packet with the QN indication. Accordingly, the SAR packet may be stored in a reception buffer or delivered to an upper layer, e.g., depending on current state variables. The SAR receiver may update the state variables and determine if there are missing packets. If there are missing packets, the SAR receiver may deliver an indication of the missing packets.

    摘要: A common signaling channel (CSC) conveys signaling information units (SIUs) from a base station (BS) to each of a multiplicity (e.g., 1200) of different mobile stations (MSs). Implicit correspondence between particular CSC and data frames is facilitated by basing CSC frame duration on the data frame period. CSC frames are time multiplexed into K subframes, which are code division multiplexed (CDM) into J CDM branches to define J*K SIUs. CDM symbols (or sequences) representing each SIU may be diversely transmitted in different time slots, and/or using different OVSF codes or subchannels. Unique gain may be provided for each SIU. Subframe duration may ensure CDM code orthogonality despite fading. CDM symbol length may be an integer power of two, or have other values, such as 2N*20 (e.g., 80). SIUs are typically relevant to BS-MS data packets, for example ACKs supporting H-ARQ for reverse link transmissions.

When the terminal enters the freeze state, state variables for the terminal's various protocols, including layer 1, layer 2, and modem controller protocols can be stored so that the protocols can continue processing when the modem tunes back, without the need to reinitialize.

This addition of the sections of A may be performed in a single clock cycle using an adder tree, or, sequentially in multiple clock cycles using a two-input adder circuit provided the output of the adder circuit is coupled to one of the two inputs. The computation A mod (2n−1) may be performed as a part of an interleaving/deinterleaving operation, or, as part of an encryption/decryption operation.

After receiving a second paging indicator which may be a temporal diversity counterpart of the first paging indicator, a second indicator measurement derived based on both the first and second paging indicators is compared against a third predetermined threshold, wherein the mobile terminal is removed from the idle mode when both comparisons are appropriately conducted.

The method and apparatus of the present invention allows a communication system to reduce transmit power that is associated with dedicated pilot signals by overlaying perturbation vectors and measuring channel estimates and demodulation channel estimates during a measurement time interval that comprises a plurality of feedback time intervals. The present inventive method utilizes channel estimates that include the effects of previous perturbation vectors, subsequent feedback vectors and intermediate feedback decisions. The inventive method extracts a coarse gradient estimate by utilizing a continuous summation of overlaid weight vector perturbation vectors and updates the weighting vector accordingly.

To obtain the effects of the desired protocol, the host invokes a different protocol supported by the client, for example retransmission, by presenting an appropriate protocol-initiation signal, for example by asserting an error bit on a bidirectional connection to the client. Invoking the supported protocol repetitively, if necessary, the host interprets the client response to the invocation to achieve substantially the same effect as the desired protocol. Thus, a repetitive retransmission request by the host may have the effect of a flow hold request.
