Abstract:
A trailer hitch security system for blocking access to a trailer hitch, includes a breach-resistant enclosure within which is positioned hitch engagement means (such as a hitch ball). A locking rod is configured for extending through orifices formed in the enclosure, for reversibly locking into position, and, when in-place, preventing removal of any engaged trailer hitch. Shrouds surround the orifices to prevent access to the termini of the locking rod to further impede tampering or attempted removal of the locking rod.
Abstract:
A method for producing an American Petroleum Institute Standards Group III Base Stock from vacuum gas oil, by injecting hydrogen, heating, saturating the mixture through hydrogen reactors connected in series with a liquid hourly space velocity (LHSV)−1 from 0.5 to 2.5, forming a saturated heated base oil, and coproduct. The method fractionates the saturated heated base oil while simultaneously refluxing a cooled light oil fraction forming an American Petroleum Institute Standards Group III Base Stock with less than 0.03% sulfur, with greater than 90% saturates and a viscosity index greater than 120 as defined by ASTM D-2270, a viscosity from 2 to 10 centistokes as defined by ASTM D-445 a boiling point range from 600 degrees F. to 1050 degrees F. as defined by ASTM D-86, and a cold crank viscosity (CCS) between 1200 and 5000 centipoise at minus 25 degrees C. and as defined by ASTM D-5293.

Abstract:
A system of teaching piano playing and music theory having piano cards. Piano cards are a flash card system with piano note information on each card. These piano cards are placed above piano keys of a piano or other keyboard designating keys to be played in a specific scale. Black and white triangles on these piano cards designate ebony and ivory keys to be played and can only be placed on a keyboard correctly if aligning white and black triangles with ebony and ivory keys. Triangles designate fingers to be used on fingering cards by way of numbers designating fingers. On music theory cards numbers inside triangles designate scale degrees. On chord cards numbers designate degrees to be played. This music teaching system further comprises a music wheel that has been color coded designating the key a scale is in.
Abstract:
A tipping chair (10) includes a main strut (12),a pivot seat (34) on the main strut (12), a pivot slot (18) defined the main strut (12) and a pivot strut (24) pivotally secured within the pivot slot (18). Pivoting a prop end (28) of the pivot strut (24) out of the pivot slot (18) of the main strut (12) backward toward a bottom end (14)of the main strut (12) causes a seat end (26) of the pivot strut (24) to raise the pivot seat(34) , and the seat end (26) becomes secured to a latch (42) on a brace surface (40) opposed to a seating surface (38) of the pivot seat (34) to postion the chair (10) in a seated.configuration. Reversing the process returns the chair (10) to a flat, stored configuration to be optionally stored as wall art.
Abstract:
Provided herein are methods and compositions for increasing the production of one or more cellulases from a fungal host cell. The disclosure is based, on the surprising discovery that mis-expression of the transcriptional regulator clr-2 in a filamentous fungal cell was able to induce expression of cellulase genes under non-inducing or starvation conditions, resulting in increased secretion of cellulases from the cell. Advantageously, mis-expression of the transcription factor clr-2 in a filamentous fungal cell cultured in the absence of cellulose or cellobiose results in increased secretion of cellulases. The disclosure relates inter alia to a method of degrading cellulose-containing material, to a method of increasing the production of one or more cellulases from a fungal cell and to a method of reducing the viscosity of a pretreated biomass material, by contacting pretreated biomass material with a fungal host cell containing at least one recombinant nucleic acid encoding clr-2 or a related transcription factor.
Abstract:
A nasal irrigation system for rinsing nasal and sinus passages or cavities includes a solution preparation unit and a dispensing container. The solution preparation unit includes a first water reservoir, a filter that is in fluid communication with an outlet of the first water reservoir and filters water passing therethrough, a second water reservoir that is in fluid communication with the filter, and a heating element that brings filtered water in the second water reservoir to a boil to clean the filtered water, and a filler port. The dispensing container receives a nasal rinse solution from the solution preparation unit, via the filler port, and administers the nasal rinse solution to a user via a direct nostril interface. The solution preparation unit can also include a cooling element, additive reservoirs for materials to calibrate salinity or to provide a pH buffer, and a control circuit to control operation thereof.
Abstract:
A steerable endoscope has an elongated body with a selectively steerable distal portion and an automatically controlled proximal portion. The endoscope body is inserted into a patient and the selectively steerable distal portion is used to select a desired path within the patient's body. When the endoscope body is advanced, an electronic motion controller operates the automatically controlled proximal portion to assume the selected curve of the selectively steerable distal portion. Another desired path is selected with the selectively steerable distal portion and the endoscope body is advanced again. As the endoscope body is further advanced, the selected curves propagate proximally along the endoscope body, and when the endoscope body is withdrawn proximally, the selected curves propagate distally along the endoscope body. This creates a serpentine motion in the endoscope body allowing it to negotiate tortuous curves along a desired path through or around and between organs within the body.
