    摘要: The present development is a kit and a method for easily determining the presence of lead on a surface. The kit provides a rhodizonate salt and an aqueous acid mixed together in a container that can deliver a liquid product as a fine particle spray. In a preferred embodiment, the rhodizonate salt is sodium rhodizonate and the aqueous acid is aqueous acetic acid. The method includes mixing sodium rhodizonate and aqueous acetic acid and then delivering it to a surface as a fine particle spray, and monitoring any change of color on the treated surface.

    摘要: A system and method for operating an engine having ionization signal sensing include detecting plug fouling and controlling the engine using progressively more aggressive control strategies if the fouling condition persists. A first control strategy may be used when the number of engine starts or running time are below corresponding thresholds and a second strategy otherwise. The first strategy may employ progressively more aggressive control procedures to eliminate spark plug deposits that may include repetitive sparking, exhaust cycle sparking, increasing engine loading, advancing spark timing, increasing air/fuel ratio, and increasing idle speed, for example. The second strategy may include similar corrective actions employed in a different order and/or to a lesser degree in an attempt to eliminate plug fouling without any noticeable change in engine operation or performance as perceived by the vehicle operator. The control strategies may be applied to individual cylinders, cylinder banks, or all cylinders.

    摘要: The invention is an amusement device that combines an answer-generating liquid-filled die agitator with a head-shaped outer casing. The head-shaped outer casing resembles an animal or human character, or a fantasy or cartoon character. Preferably the outer casing is made of opaque hard plastic, vinyl, rubber or other rigid material that can be molded to take on the desired shape. The face of the head-shaped casing has a mouth formed in an open position. Inside the mouth is the liquid-filled die agitator positioned so that when the device is tilted backwards the agitator can be viewed to reveal the answer. When the answer is viewed in context with the overall look of the embodiment of the device it has a certain entertainment value.
