Abstract: The inventive technology relates to systems and methods for the use of chemically modified antisense oligonucleotides (ASOs) to sterically prevent intron excision thus causing nuclear retention of the RNA and inhibiting nuclear export. In preferred therapeutic embodiments, ASOs may be engineered to quarantine clinically relevant RNAs in the nucleus of the cell.

Abstract: A system having a scope with a longitudinal length extending between a proximal end and a distal end includes a plurality of markers spaced along the longitudinal length. The system also includes a disassociation and positioning device that is configured to enhance unsedated transnasal endoscopic procedures by at least partially occluding the vision of a patient while enabling body cavity access, and optionally record and sense body functions such as temperature, heart rate and oxygenation of the blood stream. The system further includes a sensor integrated into the distraction device, wherein the sensor is configured to detect the markers on the longitudinal length of the scope.

Abstract: Apparatus and methods for forming an image of an object which involves focusing partially to fully spatially-coherent radiation onto a sample and collecting the resulting scattered radiation (the “standard data set”) on an array detector. In addition to the standard dataset, an additional measurement or plurality of measurements is made of a relatively-unscattered beam, using the array detector, which comprises the “modulus enforced probe (MEP) dataset”. This MEP dataset serves as an extra constraint, called the MEP constraint, in the phase retrieval algorithm used to reconstruct the image of the object.

Abstract: A system for quantum state transfer and entanglement generation includes a quantum system including a plurality of qubits, a processor, and a memory. The memory includes instructions stored thereon, which, when executed by the processor, cause the quantum system to: access a signal of the quantum system; encode unknown coefficients in one qubit of the plurality of qubits; initialize each of the remaining qubits of the plurality of qubits in state |0; group the plurality of qubits into a plurality of subsystems; in each of the plurality of subsystems: encode quantum information into Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger-like (GHZ-like) states using nearest-neighbor interactions; and apply a generalized controlled-phase gate between the plurality of subsystems to merge the GHZ-like states into an entangled state between of the plurality of subsystems.

Abstract: A microsurgical device and methods of its use can be used for treatment of various conditions including eye diseases, such as glaucoma, using minimally invasive surgical techniques. A dual-blade device can be used for cutting the trabecular meshwork (“TM”) in the eye. The device tip provides entry into the Schlemm's canal via its size (i.e., for example, 0.2-0.3 mm width) and configuration where a ramp elevates the TM away from the outer wall of the Schlemm's canal and guides the TM to first and second lateral elements for creating first and second incisions through the TM. The dimensions and configuration of the blade is such that an entire strip of TM is removed without leaving TM leaflets behind and without causing collateral damage to adjacent tissues.
