摘要: Systems and methods are described for imaging an eye portion or for treating glaucoma in an eye of a patient. In a first step an optical microscopic image of a portion of the eye is acquired. In the optical microscopic image a distinguishable anatomical structure is identified to predict a location of a volume portion to be imaged three-dimensionally. Three-dimensional imaging of the located volume portion is performed by acquiring an optical coherence tomography image of the located volume portion. The volume portion is treated by either directing a laser beam to the volume portion or inserting an implant based on the OCT-image.

摘要: Fluid-dispensing apparatus include a fluid-dispensing needle. A gas discharge member is positioned proximate a dispensing end of the needle that is configured to direct a gas towards a fluid tear-off position below the dispensing end of the needle. A controller controls discharge of the gas by the gas discharge member to control dispensing of fluid from the needle. The dispensing control may control an amount of fluid dispensed from the needle and/or tailing off of fluid dispensed from the needle. The amount of fluid dispensed from the needle may be a microliter range volume of a viscous fluid.

摘要: A submount for mounting an LED chip includes a substrate, a die attach pad configured to receive an LED chip on an upper surface of the substrate, a first meniscus control feature on the substrate surrounding the die attach pad and defining a first encapsulant region of the upper surface of the substrate, and a second meniscus control feature on the substrate surrounding the first encapsulant region and defining a second encapsulant region of the upper surface of the substrate. The first and second meniscus control features may be substantially coplanar with the die attach pad. A packaged LED includes a submount as described above and further includes an LED chip on the die attach pad, a first encapsulant on the substrate within the first encapsulant region, and a second encapsulant on the substrate within the second encapsulant region and covering the first encapsulant. Method embodiments are also disclosed.

摘要: A packaged LED includes a substrate, an LED chip on the upper surface of the substrate, a first encapsulant material, including a reflective material, on the substrate and spaced apart from the LED chip, and a second encapsulant material on the LED chip. A method of forming a packaged LED includes forming a first meniscus control feature on a substrate and defining a first region of the substrate, forming a second meniscus control feature surrounding the first region and defining a second region of the substrate between the first meniscus control feature and the second meniscus control feature, mounting an LED chip within the first region, dispensing a first encapsulant material including a reflective material within the second region, curing the first encapsulant material, dispensing a second encapsulant material on the substrate within the first region, and curing the second encapsulant material.

摘要: We describe a method to inhibit cell division of hyperproliferative cells, typically cancer cells, by introducing inhibitory RNA (RNAi) into said cells to ablate mRNAs that encode polypeptides involved in cellular processes and including RNAi molecules and vectors including transcription cassettes encoding said RNAi molecules. By application of said RNAi molecules to cancers in vivo it is possible to effect a treatment whereby the cancer cells are killed or otherwise eliminated.
