摘要: Various embodiments detecting wireless communication device mobility in a wireless communication network. In one embodiment, one or more Internet Protocol (IP) data packets associated with a wireless communication device are analyzed. The wireless communication device is coupled with the edge entity. A determination is made, based on the analyzing, that the wireless communication device is a newly coupled device at the edge entity. A central entity disposed within the wireless communication network is notified that the wireless communication device is currently coupled to the edge entity.

摘要: An aspect of this invention is a computer-executable method for distributing one or more features associated with information to be transported by a communications network that includes a plurality of end nodes interconnected via a plurality of network nodes. The method includes receiving one or more features associated with information to be transported by the communications network, wherein the one or more features are specified at an end node of the plurality of end nodes for receipt by a network node of the plurality of network nodes; responsive to the one or more received features, configuring at least a portion of the communications network to perform actions on information based upon the features; receiving the information using the plurality of network nodes; and based at least on the received features and the configuring, performing one or more actions with the information. Illustratively, the one or more actions comprise sending the information to one or more edge entity nodes in accordance with the configuring and the received features.

摘要: A mechanism is provided for spatial annotated graph queries. A geomap query is received to identify a number K-closest geometry objects within a distance D to a geo-location L. A geohash is computed for the geo-location L. A set of geometry objects are identified from an indexed set of geometry objects having at least NB common-prefix bits to a number of bits NB of the geo-location L. K-closest geometry objects are identified from the set of geometry objects that are closest to the geo-location L. The K-closest geometry objects are then returned to a user who submitted the geomap query.

摘要: Techniques to adaptively launch/replace applications and services on edge devices in a cellular infrastructure and/or adaptively place content and computation at the edge devices based on logic at the network core are provided. In one aspect, a method for dynamic placement of applications in a cellular network mobile cloud is provided which includes the steps of: (a) obtaining: (i) a model of the cellular network, (ii) a model of user mobility patterns in the cellular network, and (iii) a model of a profile of the applications; (b) upon receipt of requests from users for the applications, obtaining runtime states at edge servers in the mobile cloud; and (c) upon obtaining the runtime states at the edge servers, placing the requests among the edge servers and a core server in the mobile cloud based on the models obtained in step (a) and the runtime states obtained in step (b).

摘要: Disclosed is a novel system and method for utilizing information gathered at a based station for tracking a trajectory of a mobile device. Three types of information may be used including radio-layer information, ID information, session based information, or a combination thereof. The information is gathered at cellular base-stations to localize a mobile device. Cell towers have wide penetration and extensive coverage, and base-stations/mobile-devices have access to a lot of information. In one example, a method for tracking mobile device locations at a based station begins with accessing a list of mobile device information previously collected from mobile devices communicatively coupled over the wireless communications network to the base station. Currently active mobile device information measured by the network elements is accessed. A trajectory of the mobile device communicatively coupled to the base station is estimated by mapping the list of information previously collected with the currently active mobile device information.

摘要: Secure virtualizing of a mobile cellular device uses a cellular communication network having base transceiver station edge node servers. A virtualized-instance host server contains a virtualized instance of an enterprise environment. Base station controllers are in communication with and control the base transceiver stations. A mobile switching center in communication with the base station controllers contains the virtualized-instance host server. A cellular communication device is in communication with an edge node server, and an auxiliary data display entry device is in communication with the cellular communication device such that the virtualized instance of the enterprise environment is on the edge node server. Communications between the auxiliary display and data entry device are encrypted. In addition, movement of the cellular communication device within the cellular communication network are anticipated so that additional remote virtualized instances of the enterprise environment are provided on candidate future edge servers.

摘要: Methods and apparatus are provided for recovering from packet loss in an end-to-end network connection having at least one wireless segment. A packet on a wireless segment of an end-to-end network connection is processed by determining whether the packet comprises one or more of a lost packet and a malformed packet; and generating a modified packet for an application associated with the packet to replace one or more of the lost packet and the malformed packet if the application is substantially tolerant to one or more of lost and malformed data. The modified packet comprises, for example, a non-original packet and/or a corrected packet. Link layer information or information from a deep packet inspection can be used to determine whether the packet comprises a lost packet or a malformed packet.

摘要: A system and method are provided for discovering k-nearest-neighbors to a given point within a certain distance d. The method includes constructing an index of geometries using geohashes of geometries as an indexing key to obtain an indexed set of geometries, and calculating a geohash representation of the given point with a resolution equal to a magnitude value of d. The method includes searching for a closest-prefix geometry from the indexed set using the geohash representation of the given point, and identifying geometries from the indexed set having a same prefix as the closest-prefix geometry. The method further includes calculating distances between the given point and the geometries identified from the indexed set having the same prefix as the closest-prefix geometry, and determining k geometries with respective shortest distances less than d from the geometries identified from the indexed set having the same prefix as the closest-prefix geometry.
