Abstract:
Methods and apparatus to select a voice over Internet protocol (VoIP) border element are disclosed. An example method comprises sending a first session initiation protocol (SIP) protocol message from a first voice over Internet protocol (VoIP) device, the first SIP message comprising an Internet protocol (IP) address shared by at least two VoIP border elements, and receiving a second SIP message at the first VoIP device from a second VoIP device, the second SIP message comprising a unique address for the second VoIP device, the second VoIP device to be selected based on the shared IP address.
Abstract:
A portable foldable toilet seat overlay apparatus, foldable between a first position and a second position, deploys from a carry case to position atop an existing toilet set and prevent user contact therewith. The device includes a plurality of tractive members disposed perpendicularly projected from a bottom surface to frictionally engage with the toilet seat when the device is deployed in the first position. Each of the plurality of tractive members is arranged on the bottom surface so as to seat adjacently in contact with opposing portions of the bottom surface when the device is folded to the second position, without inhibiting movement of the device to the second position. In at least one embodiment the device is antimicrobial and, in another, biodegradable for single or limited use.
Abstract:
Calls placed to a call recipient bypass the terminating messaging system, creating an enhanced message in the call originator's messaging system and delivering the enhanced message using alternate routing information. A caller creates enhanced messages for a call recipient even when the call recipient's messaging system does not support such functionality. The caller also embeds stored content and/or use links in the enhanced messages to allow the message to be modified and/or deleted before it is accessed by the call recipient.
Abstract:
A method and system for managing messages in a unified messaging (UM) platform to enable message recall is disclosed. The UM platform deposits a message from a sender into a UM mailbox of a recipient. It is then determined whether the sender of the message is a UM subscriber. If the sender is a UM subscriber, a copy of the message or a link to the message is deposited into a UM mailbox of the sender. The UM platform then provides a message recall option with the copy of the message or the link to the message in the UM mailbox of the sender. If the sender is not a UM subscriber, a recall message including a randomly generated message recall URL is sent to the sender. This allows the sender to select the randomly generated message recall URL to send a message recall request to the UM platform.
Abstract:
A secure payment method includes receiving, at a computer of a payment service, a request from a requester for a one time use transaction identification token for a transaction. The one time use transaction identification token is provided from the payment service computer to the requester. The one time use transaction identification token is received at the payment service from a merchant communications apparatus under the control of a merchant. Electronic payment information for the transaction is issued from the payment service to the merchant upon validating the one time use transaction identification token.
Abstract:
A system and method for processing a call to a destination associated with multiple group members in a unified messaging system by determining a prioritized order of the group members for presentation to caller and receiving a selection from the caller. The order of the group members can be determined based on call histories, address books, and distribution lists of the calling party and the group members of the destination. A weighted score is computed for each group member, and the group members are sorted based on the weighted scores. The sorted list of group members is then presented to the calling party for selection. Based on the calling party's selection the unified messaging system can further process the call.
Abstract:
Fault tolerant VoIP systems and methods to operate the same are disclosed. An example method comprises receiving a registration request at an edge device of a voice over Internet protocol (VoIP) system from a user device, selecting at the edge device a communication service providing device from a list of devices configured to provide communication services, sending the registration request to the selected communication service providing device, and receiving a registration response from the selected communication service providing device.
Abstract:
Methods, systems, and apparatus for detecting subscriber input via a wireless communication device for initiating network provisioning of the wireless communication device are presented herein. A method can include receiving, via an interface of a wireless communication device, a first input from a subscriber of a wireless service associated with the wireless communication device; sending, by the wireless communication device based on the first input from the subscriber, a request for provisioning the wireless communication device via a wireless network associated with the wireless service; and outputting, via the interface of the wireless communication device, a first message including a condition for the provisioning the wireless communication device via the wireless network based on the request. In an example, the method can further include receiving, based on the request, the condition from a component of the wireless network.
Abstract:
A technique for providing multimedia communication services to a subscriber includes receiving a communication query for the subscriber, the communication query having an associated requested communication mode. The technique also includes servicing the communication query for the subscriber using the requested communication mode when the requested communication mode corresponds to one of one or more selected communication modes.
Abstract:
A method and system for automatically defining and provisioning organizational data in a unified messaging (UM) platform are disclosed. An adapter in a unified messaging platform connects to at least one client human resources database. Human resources information that is organized in an organizational hierarchy is retrieved from the human resources database, and hierarchical organizational data is automatically generated in the UM platform based on the organizational hierarchy of the human resources information retrieved from the human resources database. UM mailboxes are provisioned to messaging centers in the UM platform based on the hierarchical organizational data.
