The overtube has an inserting channel into which the catheter is inserted, a therapeutic instrument channel into which a therapeutic instrument is inserted, an elevating base formed in an opening located at a distal end of, at least, the therapeutic-instrument channel, and an operation device to operate the elevating base. The elevating base is formed to allow a distal end portion of the therapeutic instrument to be mounted on the elevating base to elevate the distal end portion.

The first drive unit drives the medical instrument to enable an inserting and pulling-out operation of the medical instrument with the object through the insertion tube.
