摘要: A fluid feeding system consists of a flow channel member and a fluid feeding apparatus. The flow channel member has at least a flow channel for feeding a fluid to a sensor surface. Pipette catchers are formed at inlet and outlet openings of the flow channel. The fluid feeding apparatus comprises a movable pipette head having a couple of pipettes, a head moving mechanism and pumps for sucking and ejecting the fluid through the pipettes. To inject the fluid into the flow channel, ends of the pipettes are pressed onto the pipette catchers. The pipette catchers are formed from a soft material, so that they are deformed resiliently when the ends of the pipettes are pressed onto the pipette catchers, thereby ensuring water-tightness between the pipettes and the flow channel, without the need for fitting the pipettes in the inlet and outlet openings.

摘要: A projector engine is provided with an illuminating optical system having an optical axis in parallel with a horizontal direction of a screen and a projecting optical system having an optical axis perpendicular to the optical axis. A first mirror, a total reflection prism and DMD are provided between the illuminating optical system and the projecting optical system. The total reflection prism guides illuminating light incident from the illuminating optical system to DMD and totally reflects image light emitted from DMD to emit to the projecting optical system. DMD is inclined by 45 degrees to the horizontal direction of the screen along with a circuit board and is rotated by 45 degrees centering on a direction of a normal line of DMD.

摘要: A multiple pipette assembly is used for the purpose of sample immobilization for surface plasmon resonance (SPR) assay, and dispenses and introduces sample fluid of a sample to a sensing surface of a sensor unit. The sensor unit includes a flow channel having first and second orifices, and the sensing surface, positioned in the flow channel, for detecting the reaction of the sample. First and second pipette devices access the orifices. First and second pumps are connected with respectively the pipette devices, for pressurization to dispense the sample fluid through the pipette devices, or for decompression to aspirate the sample fluid through the pipette devices. The pumps are driven in a manner independent from one another. While the first and second pipette devices move away from the sensor unit, the pumps are caused to decompress a space in the first and second pipette devices and the flow channel.

摘要: A state of attenuation in total internal reflection is detected by the use of a measuring apparatus having a measuring unit and a reference unit and a measuring system which corrects result of detection by the measuring unit on the basis of result of detection by the reference unit and measures the change of a state of attenuation in total internal reflection on the basis of the corrected result of detection by the measuring unit. The difference in sensitivity between the measuring unit and the reference unit is detected before initiating the measurement of the change of a state of attenuation in total internal reflection, and result of measurement by the measuring system is calibrated on the basis of the difference in sensitivity between the measuring unit and the reference unit.

摘要: A sensor unit for use in a surface plasmon resonance (SPR) assay includes a flow channel device, which causes a sample fluid of a sample to flow on a sensing surface lying on a prism. The flow channel device includes a rigid device body part having an opposing surface positioned opposite to the sensing surface. A flow recess is formed in the opposing surface, closed by the prism to constitute a flow channel, for covering the sensing surface. A sealant portion is overlaid on an edge portion of the opposing surface and the flow recess in the device body part. The sealant portion tightens closing between the device body part and the prism. Also, the sealant portion projects over the opposing surface of the device body part in a state before contacting the prism. In addition, the sealant portion is formed from material having a small non-specific adsorption.

摘要: A total reflection prism includes two prisms having a shape of a triangular prism of a first prism and a second prism. The first prism includes an illuminating light incident face, a total reflection face and a panel reference face. The second prism includes an image light incident face on which image light is incident from the first prism, an image light emitting face from which image light is emitted, and a side end face. An edge line portion of a sharp edge is formed between the image light emitting face and the side end face and therefore, a light amount of OFF light reflected by the edge line portion and projected to a screen becomes extremely smaller than a light amount of ON light and does not effect an influence on quality of a projected image.

摘要: A liquid crystal projector of three-color type has three liquid crystal elements for modulating three primary color light bundles into three color optical images respectively. A recombination prism combines modulated three color optical images, and a projection lens system projects the combined full-color image on a screen. The projection lens system is constituted of the front lens group and the first and second rear lens groups. The front lens group and the rear lens groups are mounted to frames that are formed integrally on a prism base plate to which the recombination prism is fixed.

摘要: A sensor utilizing attenuated total reflection is equipped with a dielectric block, a thin film layer formed on a surface of the dielectric block, an optical system for making a light beam enter the dielectric block at various angles of incidence so that the condition for total internal reflection is satisfied at an interface between the dielectric block and the thin film layer, a photodetector for detecting the light beam satisfying total internal reflection at the interface, and a differential amplifier array for differentiating a signal output from each of the light-receiving elements of the photodetector, in the juxtaposed direction of the light-receiving elements. Every time a measurement is made, a quantity change &Dgr;I′ in the differentiated value I′ is found by subtracting an initial value from the differentiated value I′. The quantity change &Dgr;I′ is amplified, so that measurements can be made without saturating subsequent electric circuits.
