Abstract: In one aspect, a method of wireless communication includes determining a number of bytes in a compressed queue and a number of bytes in an uncompressed queue. The method also includes transmitting a buffer status report (BSR) indicating at least the number of bytes in the compressed queue. The method includes receiving an uplink grant indicating one or more uplink grant resources and a number of bytes allocated for the one or more uplink grant resources. The method also includes generating a transport block (TB) based on the uplink grant and the BSR and from data of at least the compressed queue, wherein the TB includes one or more compressed packets and one or more uncompressed packets. The method further includes transmitting a PUSCH transmission including the TB during an uplink grant resource of the one or more uplink grant resources. Other aspects and features are also claimed and described.

Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a wireless receiver may receive, from a radio bearer configured to use header compression and at a lower layer of the wireless receiver, a plurality of packets based at least in part on the header compression, wherein the lower layer receives the plurality of packets in an out-of-order sequence. The wireless receiver may deliver, from the lower layer of the wireless receiver to a higher layer of the wireless receiver, the plurality of packets, after header decompression according to the out-of-order sequence, based at least in part on at least one threshold. Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer-readable media, for managing scheduling requests (SRs) in a user equipment (UE) that supports a split data radio bearer (DRB). In some aspects, the UE may trigger a first SR for a first communication link and a second SR for a second communication link in response to determining that a first amount of data in the UE data buffer is greater than a first threshold. The UE may transmit the first SR to a first base station (BS) via the first communication link. Prior to transmission of the second SR, the UE may determine whether a second amount of data in the UE data buffer is less than a second threshold. The UE may cancel the second SR in response to the second amount of data in the UE data buffer being less than the second threshold.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. One method may include a wireless communications device determining an inter-modulation distortion value between simultaneous communications on a first configuration of a first radio access network and a second configuration of a second radio access network, and dynamically switching between a non-standalone mode and a standalone mode of operation, based on the inter-modulation distortion value and a quality of service requirement for the standalone mode. The wireless communications device may also provide for time division multiplexing communications on a first RAT and a second RAT wherein only the first or second RAT is active during a period of time, and wherein the first RAT is an anchor for the second RAT.

Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure relate to dual connectivity reporting. In one example, a dual connectivity communication is established, which includes a communication with a master node according to a first radio access technology (RAT), and a communication with a secondary node according to a second RAT. A change in measurement capability is then detected, and subsequently reported to the master node and/or secondary node. In another example, a scheduling entity establishes a first or second communication of a dual connectivity communication with a scheduled entity. The first communication is established according to a first RAT when operating as a master node, and the second communication is established according to a second RAT when operating as a secondary node. An indication is then received from the scheduled entity of a change in measurement capability, and the first and/or second communications are reconfigured in response to the change in measurement capability.

Abstract: Techniques are described herein to dynamically control a number of hybrid automatic repeat requests (HARQ) transmissions based at least in part on flow characteristics of a data flow. Data included in a transport block may be grouped into one or more data flows based on a variety of factors. A set of performance benchmarks may be associated with each data flow. Flow characteristics for each data flow may be measured. A network entity may determine a number of HARQ transmissions to be transmitted during a HARQ procedure based on measured flow characteristics satisfying the performance benchmarks. For example, if a performance benchmark is not satisfied by its associated flow characteristic, the network entity may request additional HARQ transmissions during the HARQ procedure.

A transmitting device may associate, at a first protocol layer, a first sequence number to a data packet to perform integrity protection on at least a portion of the data packet. The transmitting device may associate, at the first protocol layer, a second sequence number to the data packet for wireless transmission to a receiving device. The transmitting device may indicate an offset between the first sequence number and the second sequence number in the data packet. The transmitting device may transmit the data packet to a second protocol layer for wireless transmission to the receiving device, the second protocol layer being a lower layer than the first protocol layer.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices are described for wireless communication. A user equipment (UE), for example, may determine a content size of an uncompressed buffer and a content size of a compressed buffer. The UE may then generate a buffer status report (BSR) based on the content sizes of the uncompressed buffer and the compressed buffer. Alternatively, a base station may receive a BSR based on a size of an uncompressed buffer of the UE. The base station may then receive a compressed packet from the UE and may determine a compression gain based on a size of the compressed packet and a size of a corresponding uncompressed packet. The base station may then adjust the received BSR based on the compression gain.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices are described for wireless communication at a UE. In aspects, a receiver may receive a transmission requesting information about support for data compression. The receiver may determine parameters related to the types of supported data compression and communicate the information to the transmitting device. In some cases, the receiver may then receive a message from the transmitting entity that requests establishment of a data compression configuration. The receiver may respond with confirmation or rejection of the proposed compression configuration. If the configuration is confirmed, the transmitter and receiver may exchange compressed data packets according to the configuration. The devices may exchange status and control information related to the compression configuration (e.g., in a compression header of a compressed message or a separate status and/or control information message).
