Abstract: A method is performed at a server system. The server system receives from an electronic device media content information. The server matches the media content information with stored content information, and identifies a media content item based on the matching. It also identifies a genre of the media content item and one or more entities relevant to the identified media content item. The server generates one or more user-selectable elections based on the genre of the media content item. It sends to the electronic device the user-selectable elections and a plurality of affordances. Each of the affordances provides a user of the electronic device with one of the user-selectable elections corresponding to a respective entity that is relevant to the identified media content item. The server receives from the electronic device a selection of the one or more user-selectable elections, and performs an operation associated with the selection.

Abstract: An electronic device and a controlling method thereof are provided. A controlling method of an electronic device according to the disclosure includes: performing first learning for a neural network model for acquiring a video sequence including a talking head of a random user based on a plurality of learning video sequences including talking heads of a plurality of users, performing second learning for fine-tuning the neural network model based on at least one image including a talking head of a first user different from the plurality of users and first landmark information included in the at least one image, and acquiring a first video sequence including the talking head of the first user based on the at least one image and pre-stored second landmark information using the neural network model for which the first learning and the second learning were performed.

Abstract: A user of a storage system can upload files for a media asset, which can include a high quality media file and various related files. As part of the upload process, the storage system can extract metadata that describes the media asset. The user can specify one or more lifecycle policies to be applied for storage of the asset, and a rules engine can ensure the application of the one or more policies. The rules engine can also enable the use of simple media processing workflows. A filename hashing approach can be used to ensure that the segments and files for the asset are stored in a relatively random and even distribution across the partitions of the storage system. As part of the lifecycle for the asset, the high quality media file can be moved to less expensive storage once transcoding of the asset or another such action occurs.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and media for detecting a presentation of media content on a display device are provided. In accordance with some implementations, methods for detecting a presentation of media content on a display device are provided, the methods comprising: detecting, using a light sensor, light levels in the light sensor's surroundings; generating a signal representing the light levels; detecting, using a hardware processor, at least one variation in light levels indicative of a presentation of a video scene based on the signal; detecting at least one variation in light levels indicative of a scene change subsequent to the video scene based on the signal; and determining that media content is being presented on a display device in response to detecting the variation in light levels indicative of the presentation of the video scene and the variation in light levels indicative of the scene change.

In some implementations, a method for presenting ranked comments is provided, the method comprising: receiving, using a hardware processor, content data related to an item of content; receiving, using the hardware processor, comment data related to a comment associated with the item of content; determining, using the hardware processor, a degree of correlation between at least a portion of the comment data and one or more portions of the content data; determining, using the hardware processor, a priority for the comment based on the degree of correlation; and presenting, using the hardware processor, the comment based on the priority.
