    Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a method and device for providing an edge computing service to a user equipment (UE) in a communication system, and more particularly, to a method and device for managing an identifier of a wireless communication UE so as to provide an edge computing service to the UE. A method according to an embodiment of the present disclosure is a method for managing an identifier of a UE in an edge enabler server of an edge computing system, and the method may comprise the operations of: receiving a first message via a mobile communication network from a UE of a mobile communication system, wherein the first message includes a generic public subscription identifier (GPSI) of the UE, and the received identifier of the UE identifies validity on the basis of a previously received profile of the UE; if the identifier of the UE is valid, binding and storing the identifier of the UE and a UE IP address based on the received first message; and if the identifier of the UE is valid, transmitting a first response message to the UE.

    Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a device and method for providing a terminal with information of a server in a communication system and, more specifically, to a device and method for providing a terminal with information of an application server in a mobile communication system. According to an embodiment of the present disclosure, a terminal may receive, from a 5G system according to a location of the terminal, an address of a DNS server to access, and receive, from a 5GS, regional information or zone information (hereinafter, referred to as an edge computing service zone ID (ESZI)) which can be used when a query is transmitted to the DNS server. When transmitting a DNS query to the corresponding DNS server, the terminal may include the ESZI in the DNS query and transmit same, and the DNS server having received the DNS query may search for an edge application server operating in an edge computing environment suitable for (or close to) a current location of the terminal, determine an address of the edge application server, and respond to the terminal. Accordingly, the terminal may access an edge application server that is closest to or most suitable for the current location of the terminal, and use an edge computing service.

    Abstract: The disclosure relates to a communication technique for converging, with an IoT technology, a 5G communication system for supporting a higher data transmission rate than a 4G system, and a system therefor. A method for operating relay UE in a mobile communication system includes transmitting, to a network node connected to the relay UE, a remote UE report message including remote UE information about a remote UE accessing a network via the relay UE, wherein the remote UE information includes IP address information allocated to the remote UE; starting a timer upon transmitting the remote UE report message to the network node; receiving, from the network node, a response message in reply to the remote UE report message; and stopping the timer upon receipt of the response message from the network node. the IP address information includes an IP address and port information of the remote UE in case that IPv4 is used as an address type.
