    摘要: An exhaust gas purifying apparatus for an internal-combustion engine, including a three-way catalyst, nitrogen oxide purifier that is disposed downstream of the three-way catalyst, an upstream oxygen sensor that is disposed between the three-way catalyst and the nitrogen oxide purifier, and a downstream oxygen sensor that is disposed downstream of the nitrogen oxide purifier. An abnormality determination criterion is set in accordance with the exhaust gas amount of the internal-combustion engine wherein the criterion is equivalent to a time period until the output of the downstream oxygen density sensor is read since the output of the upstream oxygen density sensor is changed to rich after the air-fuel ratio of the exhaust gas was over from lean to rich. Any abnormality of the nitrogen oxide purifier is determined when the output of the downstream oxygen density sensor has been changed to rich before the time period represented by the criterion elapses.

    摘要: The control system of the present invention is provided for a hybrid vehicle with an engine, a motor, and a power storage unit. The control system selects one of an air intake passage pressure assist mode (PB assist mode) corresponding to a partial load range of the engine and a throttle assist mode corresponding to the opening state of a throttle. The control system comprises: an assist mode determining device for determining whether the vehicle is in the PB assist mode or in the throttle assist mode, based on the opening state of a throttle; a PB assist amount determining device for determining a base assist amount in the PB assist mode, based on the rotational speed of the engine and an air intake passage pressure (PB); a throttle assist amount determining device for determining the base assist amount in the throttle assist mode, based on the rotational speed of the engine, the base assist amount including a range defined by an upper threshold value and a lower threshold value; and a throttle assist amount changer for gradually changing the assist amount determined by the throttle assist amount determining device between the upper threshold value and the lower threshold value when the vehicle runs through a partial load range to a full load range of the engine.

The methanol concentration in the fuel is sensed and from the sensed value, reid vapor pressure of the fuel is presumed. The pressure in the fuel tank is then regulated at a target pressure by adjusting the amount of vaporized fuel to be removed from the fuel tank and fed to a canister in response to the presumed reid vapor pressure.

    摘要: An air-fuel ratio control method controls the air-fuel ratio of an air-fuel mixture supplied to an internal combustion engine having spark plugs, and heaters for heating the air-fuel mixture in the vicinity of respective ones of the heaters, the air-fuel mixture containing a fuel which is poor in atomizing characteristic at a low temperature. The method comprises the steps of (1) determining whether or not a temperature of the engine is lower than a predetermined value, (2) determining whether or not the engine is being cranked, (3) detecting an amount of electric current flowing through each of the heaters, and (4) controlling an amount of fuel supplied to the engine based on the detected amount of electric current when it is determined that the temperature of the engine is lower than the predetermined value and at the same time the engine is being cranked.

The average value is compared with upper and lower limits and when it reaches either one, the factor obtained when the sensor operated properly is adjusted by an amount to follow up the target value.

    摘要: A fuel-vapor purge and air-fuel ratio control system controls the amount of fuel vapor to be purged under an engine vacuum into a carburetor of an automotive engine from a charcoal canister and also controls the air-fuel ratio of an air-fuel mixture to be supplied to the carburetor. The fuel vapor is purged form the charcoal canister by applying the engine vacuum to the charcoal canister only when the air-fuel ratio is controlled. The applied engine vacuum may be regulated to control the amount of purged fuel vapor to change in proportion to the amount of air drawn by the engine, or the amount of purged fuel vapor may be increased to an upper limit when the air-fuel ratio is in a normal air-fuel ratio control region, and the amount of purged fuel vapor may be reduced to a lower limit when the air-fuel ratio is outside the normal air-fuel ratio control region. Alternatively, the controlling of the air-fuel ratio may forcibly be brought to a central value of an air-fuel ratio control range when purged fuel vapor is cut off of the amount of purged fuel vapor is abruptly reduced.
