For the purpose of efficient transmission based on the UWB system, first and second baseband waveforms are generated at a cycle equivalent to an integral multiple of a carrier to have a specified phase difference from each other. The first baseband waveform is multiplied by the carrier and a first transmission data sequence to acquire a first transmission waveform. The second baseband waveform is multiplied by a phase shifted carrier and a second transmission data sequence to acquire a second transmission waveform. The first transmission waveform is mixed with the second transmission waveform to acquire a transmission signal. The transmission signal is transmitted as a π/2 shift BPSK signal to transmit a UWB signal. Selecting the baseband waveforms and the carrier makes it possible to configure the transmission band and easily provide division multiplexing transmission.

Multi-carrier transmission is performed without inserting a repetitive signal into guard interval periods. A transmitter provides guard interval periods by using a null signal to save transmission power and prevent the deterioration of the SN ratio. Delayed waves at the head of each received symbol cause high-frequency waves to occur and carriers to interfere with one another. Accordingly, a receiver adds a component following each received symbol to a delayed-wave component at the head of the received symbol. As a result, the delayed-wave component at the head of the received symbol and the added component become continuous in wave form and subcarriers do not interfere with each other.

An MOCVD apparatus according to the present invention supplies a source gas, as a mixture of an MO source gas, with an oxidizing gas to a substrate to thereby form a film. The MOCVD apparatus includes a substrate holder to hold the substrate; a deposition chamber to house the substrate holder; a supply mechanism to supply the source gas to a surface of the substrate; and a heating device to heat the substrate held by the substrate holder. The deposition chamber includes a substrate housing unit to house the substrate holder holding the substrate, and a passage housing unit connected to the substrate housing unit and constituting a passage to supply the source gas to the substrate. The passage has a cross-sectional area that is smaller than the area of a deposition plane of the substrate when the passage housing unit is cut in parallel with the deposition plane of the substrate.

In a communication method, even when the same channel is used to perform another communication based on the time division multiple access, a signal can avoid continuously suffering interference from the other communication. Idle slots (I) which are not used for communication are inserted between frames at random to change the period of time slots (TS0 to TS3) at random and moreover, a transmission signal is transmitted at timing of time slot (TS0) which is assigned to its own station, out of time slots of which the period is changed at random, thereby even when the same channel is used to perform another communication based on the time division multiple access, it is possible to avoid continuous agreement of the transmission timing with the other communication, so that it is possible to prevent continuous reception of communication interference from the other communication.
