摘要： An image processing apparatus having a solid state image sensor for inputting an optical image thereto and converting the image into an electrical signal; an image memory having a general-purpose DRAM formed by at least one chip and required to control the refresh operation from the outside of the memory chip; a timing signal generator for generating timing of read from the solid state image sensor; a transfer/storage control device for horizontally reading data from the solid state image sensor synchronously with the horizontal read timing signal generated from the timing signal generator, transferring the read data and storing the data in the DRAM; a first refresh signal generator for refreshing the DRAM at predetermined time intervals when no data is read from the solid state image sensor; and a second refresh signal generator for refreshing the DRAM a predetermined number of times during the dormant period of the horizontal read timing signal. In the apparatus, the second refresh signal generator is made effective synchronously with the horizontal read timing signal during the time of read from the solid state image sensor, and the first refresh signal generator is made effective during a time other than the time of read from the solid state image sensor.

It becomes thereby possible to form various kinds of correct timing signals even if the input synchronizing signal reproduced from a recording medium is deteriorated.

摘要： A magnetic disc recording apparatus comprises a search mechanism for searching for an unrecorded position on the disc to properly continue the recording to the same disc and a head control mechanism for setting a recording head at the searched unrecorded position on the disc. The search mechanism operates when it is detected that the disc has been replaced or exchanged. The head control mechanism sets the head at a predetermined preparatory position for searching, corresponding to an extremity of a predetermined searching range of the search mechanism for searching for the unrecorded position when there is an indication that the disc has been unloaded.

摘要： When a region of interest of an image is compressed with high quality by an image sensing apparatus, such as a digital camera or the like, the region of interest (ROI) can be compressed by a compression coefficient different from that of other regions of the image according to the so-called JPEG 2000 method. However, setting the ROI is a complicated operation for a user. In the present invention, when a continuous photographing mode is not set, a single image sensing operation is assumed and the ROI is automatically set in a first region, which is the largest of three regions. Whereas in the continuous photographing mode, if a low-speed mode is set, the ROI is set in a second region smaller than the first region, and if a high-speed mode is set, the ROI is set in a third region, which is the smallest. In other words, the ROI is automatically set in the largest region in the single photographing mode, and when the continuous photographing mode is set, the ROI is automatically set larger in the low-speed mode than in the high-speed mode.
