    Abstract: A selective catalytic reduction (SCR) catalyst composition effective in the abatement of nitrogen oxides (NOx) is provided. The SCR catalyst composition significantly increases the conversion of NOx relative to a Cu-chabazite reference catalyst composition at any temperature, and especially at low temperatures. A catalyst article, an exhaust gas treatment system, and a method of treating an exhaust gas stream, each including the SCR catalyst composition of the invention, are also provided. The SCR catalyst composition is particularly useful for treatment of exhaust from a lean-burn engine.

    Abstract: A process for the preparation of amino alcohols includes condensing a compound of Formula (II), a stereoisomer, a tautomer, or a salt thereof with a compound of Formula (IIIa) or Formula (IIIb), a stereoisomer, a tautomer, or a salt thereof to form a condensation product; hydroxylating or acyloxylating the condensation product in the presence of an oxidant to obtain a hydroxylation or acyloxylation product; and subjecting the hydroxylation or acyloxylation product to one or more subsequent reactions comprising a hydrolysis reaction, alcohol deprotection, an amino lysis reaction, or a combination of two or more thereof to obtain an amino alcohol of Formula (I).

    Abstract: The invention provides an emission control system for treatment of an exhaust gas stream that includes an oxidation catalyst composition disposed on a substrate in fluid communication with the exhaust gas stream; at least one selective catalytic reduction (SCR) composition disposed on a substrate downstream from the oxidation catalyst composition, and a hydrogen injection article configured to introduce hydrogen into the exhaust gas stream upstream of the oxidation catalyst composition or downstream of the oxidation catalyst composition and upstream of the at least one SCR composition. The invention also provides a method of treating an exhaust gas stream, the method including receiving the exhaust gas stream into the emission control system of the invention and intermittently introducing hydrogen upstream of the oxidation catalyst article or downstream of the oxidation catalyst article and upstream stream of the SCR article.

    Abstract: A diesel oxidation catalyst composition is provided, the composition including at least one platinum group metal impregnated onto a porous refractory oxide material in particulate form and at least one base metal oxide impregnated onto a porous refractory oxide material in particulate form, wherein the porous refractory oxide material impregnated with at least one platinum group metal and the porous refractory oxide material impregnated with at least one base metal oxide are in the form of a mixture or wherein the at least one platinum group metal and the at least one base metal oxide are impregnated on the same porous refractory oxide material. The diesel oxidation catalyst provides synergistic enhancement of carbon monoxide oxidation as well as relatively unimpaired hydrocarbon oxidation. Methods of making and using the catalyst composition are also provided, as well as emission treatment systems comprising a catalyst article coated with the catalyst composition.
