Abstract:
Each pixel cell (12) of an image sensor (10) is made of a 4-Tr structure, in which only one Tr for resetting a column (X) is so added to an ordinary 3-Tr APS as to reset only an arbitrary pixel selectively, thereby to confine the pixel size. When a pixel signal is to be read, the period, for which the pixel signals composing an ordinary image of one frame are read, is finely divided so that the pixel signals of the pixels receiving an ID light for the period are read out bit by bit and repeatedly. At this time, for only the column being read, an electric current is fed to a read amplifier in the pixel cell (12) or a variable gain amplifier in an output unit (14), thereby to suppress the power consumption. As a result, a lower power consumption and a higher pixel formation can be attained in an image pickup device for picking up an image and for acquiring the ID information of a light beacon existing in the image pickup range.
Abstract:
A section detector 12 detects a section in a source code written in the C++ language for performing a database search process, and a processing time estimator 13 estimates both the processing time for the section by a conventional logic operation and the processing time by quantum computing based on Grover's search algorithm. If it is determined that the latter is shorter than the former by a determiner 14, a replacing processor 15 replaces the section with a program written in C++ corresponding to Grover's search algorithm. Accordingly, a source code is completed in which a portion or portions suitable for computing by quantum computer is replaced. Thus, with the present invention, it is possible to easily develop a program for simulating a cooperative operation between a quantum computer and a conventional computer in a computer system including the two types of computers.

According to this invention, a novel anti-oxidative substance of naturally originated, with excellent ability to scavenge active oxygen species and high safety was provided. According to the present invention, citrulline was firstly exhibited to have excellent ability to scavenge active oxygen species. A novel active oxygen scavenging composition including citrulline as its effective ingredient was characterized by its excellent ability to scavenge active oxygen and high safety.
Abstract:
According to the present invention, the polypeptide of theobromine synthase derived from coffea arabica and the gene encoding said polypeptide are provided. As theobromine synthase participates in biosynthesis of caffeine, caffeineless coffee would be obtained by preparing a transformed plant, wherein expression of gene encoding said enzyme is inhibited.

The disclosure generally relates generally to lipid nanodiscs, in particular to lipid nanodiscs formed from acryloyl-based copolymers. A lipid nanodisc according to the disclosure includes a lipid bilayer having a first hydrophilic face and a second hydrophilic face opposing the first hydrophilic face, and a hydrophobic edge between the opposing hydrophilic faces, and an acryloyl-based copolymer encircling the hydrophobic edge of the lipid bilayer. The acryloyl-based copolymer includes a first monomer unit having a pendant hydrophobic group and a second monomer unit having a pendant hydrophilic group. Methods of making and characterizing the lipid nanodiscs are also disclosed.
