    摘要: A remote control actuator includes a spindle guide section (3), a distal end member (2) fitted to the tip of the spindle guide section for alteration in attitude, a tool (1) provided rotatably in the distal end member, a tool rotation drive source (41) for rotating the tool, and an attitude altering drive source (42) for altering the attitude of the distal end member. The spindle guide section has therein a rotary shaft (22) for transmitting a rotation of the tool rotation drive source to the tool, and an attitude altering member (31) capable of being selectively advanced or retracted by the attitude altering drive source for altering the attitude of the distal end member. A position detector (47) is provided for detecting the advanced or retracted position of the attitude altering member at a site distant from the attitude altering drive source.

    摘要: A surgical instrument includes a handle and an elongated shaft that defines a longitudinal axis. An end effector extends from the elongated shaft and defines an end effector axis. The elongated shaft includes an articulating portion that both pivotally and rotationally movable with respect to the longitudinal axis. The end effector is rotationally movable with respect to the end effector axis. A drive mechanism includes at least one actuator disposed on the handle that is operable to move the end effector in at least three independent modes relative to the longitudinal axis or the end effector axis. The three modes include an articulation mode wherein the articulating portion of the elongated shaft pivots relative to the longitudinal axis, a shoulder roll mode wherein the articulating portion of the elongated shaft rotates about the longitudinal axis, and a wrist roll mode wherein the end effector rotates about the end effector axis.

    摘要: A steerable medical device is used to controllably introduce a guidewire or other medical instrument into a body of a patient and direct placement of the guidewire or other medical instrument in the body of the patient. The steerable medical device can include an elongated member, a steering mechanism, and an attachment member. The elongated member extends along a longitudinal axis and comprises a deflectable distal portion that is deflectable off of the longitudinal axis. The steering mechanism is adapted to control longitudinal and rotational movement of the elongated member and to control off-axis deflection of its deflectable portion. The attachment member is removably couplable to another medical device. The attachment member is moveably coupled to the steering mechanism and the elongated member.
