摘要: A tray (100) for accommodating a coiled medical device, such as a catheter assembly (700), includes a first compartment (101), a second compartment (102), and a third compartment (103). The catheter assembly (700) and devices associated with a catheterization procedure, such as syringes (701,702) containing sterile water and lubricating jelly and a specimen container (703) can be disposed within the tray. A first barrier (105) and second barrier (106) separate the compartments. The barriers can have openings (121,122) therein to accommodate large syringes or to enable the first compartment (101) to be used as a lubricant applicator for the catheter. The first compartment (101) can include a stair-stepped contour (115) such that the syringes are held at different depths to facilitate ease of use. The various devices can be disposed within the tray (100) in accordance with their order of use in the catheterization procedure.

摘要: A specimen retrieval apparatus includes an elongated tubular member defining a lumen therethrough and having an end effector disposed at a distal end thereof. The end effector includes a shaft defining a longitudinal axis, the shaft including a lumen extending therethrough. The lumen of the shaft communicates with the lumen of the elongated tubular member. A suction member is disposed at a distal end of the shaft in communication with the lumen of the shaft. The suction member is configured to retain a tissue specimen thereon. A sleeve is disposed about the shaft and is movable with respect to the shaft from a proximal to a distal position. A specimen retrieval bag is coupled to the sleeve. The bag is deployable from an undeployed position wherein the bag is disposed about the sleeve to an extended position wherein the bag is deployed over the tissue specimen.

摘要: A drape for clean operation is a flexible bag-shaped structure for maintaining a substantially closed operating space around an operation site. The bag-shaped structure comprises a bottom wall 1 and a transparent top wall 2 and has a closed proximal end 100a and a closed distal end 100b. The bottom wall 1 is provided with at least one operation site-revealing opening 3 close to the proximal end, and the top wall 2 is provided with at least one pair of hand insertion parts 4 at a position close to the operation site-revealing opening 3 to allow the physician to aseptically insert the hands into the operating space, and a closed, openable and closable medical device supply port 5 for supplying medical devices required for operations at a position away from the operation site-revealing opening 3.

摘要: The invention disclosed herein relates to improved elastomeric articles and processes for making the elastomeric articles. In particular, the invention relates to the surface modification of elastomeric articles such as industrial, surgical, and examination gloves that provides for improved consistency with respect to surface tack on a single article, between different articles from a single production batch, and between articles from separate production batches. The surface modification treatment comprises application of an aqueous mixture of silicone emulsion and ammonium salts of alkyl phosphates to the surfaces of elastomeric articles.

摘要: A medical glove is provided for protection against the transmission of infectious agents. The glove comprises a glove body sized to tightly enclose a wearer's hand. The glove body has a palm portion and adjoining finger portions. An integral webbing extends between two of the finger portions. The webbing is sized to receive a stethoscope head between the finger portions when the finger portions are separated. The glove is formed of an acoustically transmissive elastomeric material that is substantially non-porous and sufficiently thin to allow tactile sensitivity and dexterity.
