The back of the console body may be integrated with the dashboard by providing the back with a profile that conforms at least partially to a contour of the dashboard. In addition, the console body may be adapted to cover an area of the dashboard in which climate controls were originally installed, with an upper portion of the console body being adapted to receive and secure the climate controls in a relocated position so that they may be operated from the front of the console body.

The traction motor has a motoring mode of operation and a power dissipation mode of operation. The traction motor generates dynamic braking electrical power in the power dissipation mode of operation. An electrical energy storage system includes a chopper circuit coupled to an energy storage device. The storage device is responsive to the chopper circuit to selectively store electrical energy generated in the power dissipation mode. The storage system selectively provides secondary electric power from the storage device to traction motor to assist in propelling the Off Highway Vehicle during the motoring mode.

A foot controlled engine start and stop system characterized by a control circuit arranged among an ignition switch, an ignition grounding circuit, a warm-up switch, a starter motor, an accelerator pedal, an alternator and an actuator to disengage the parking brake when the engine is started. The system controls automatic start and stop of the starter motor and engine by feeding back the output frequency of the alternator. When installed on an off-road utility vehicle, this system, will allow the operator to conveniently start and stop the engine by depressing or releasing the accelerator pedal. The system senses the engine speed by monitoring the frequency of the alternator output voltage and disables the starter circuit when the engine speed is at or above a level necessary to allow the engine to run without starter assistance. When the operator removes his/her foot from the accelerator pedal, the ignition circuit is grounded to stop the engine. A warm-up switch is incorporated to disable the grounding switch when the operator wishes to allow the engine to continue to run while not present.

A custom gauge panel includes a user-selected design printed on a translucent medium that is bonded to an electro-luminescent substrate. In one embodiment, the custom gauge panel also includes a substantially transparent layer that stiffens and protects the translucent medium and user-selected design printed thereon during manufacture, installation, and use. The simplicity of the custom panel reduces the material and labor costs associated with producing a custom gauge panel. In another aspect of the invention, a custom gauge ordering apparatus facilitates selecting options related to a gauge panel, along with previewing, and submitting orders for a gauge panel with the selected options. The order may be automatically received by an order fulfillment system and used to direct or control manufacture of the custom gauge panel.

The fuel tank inlet check valve replacement kit is adapted to obviate the need to replace the entire fuel tank when there is a fracture in the inlet check valve. The replacement kit includes a fuel inlet fluidly connected to a body portion thereof. Within a chamber of the body portion a spring-biased check valve may be moveable between an open condition and a closed condition blocking the flow between the body portion and the fuel inlet, wherein fuel supplied through the fuel inlet moves the check valve to the open condition, that is otherwise biased in the closed condition. The chamber has side ports so that fuel flowing from the fuel inlet flows into the fuel tank. Tank seals and a gasket seals the fuel inlet to the tank.
