摘要: A downhole tool comprises a body having a fluid inlet and a fluid outlet and configured to accelerate fluid flowing along a fluid flow path from the inlet to the outlet. The fluid outlet is configured to provide a radially directed and substantially circumferentially continuous stream of fluid. The stream of fluid may be used to clean or cut downhole tubing, such as casing.

摘要: A method for setting a barrier within a wellbore comprises deploying a first plug assembly (16) into a wellbore on a running string, wherein the first plug assembly comprises an extendable arrangement (24), and then setting the first plug assembly within the wellbore by extending the extendable arrangement. A settable medium is injected via the running string into the wellbore above the first plug assembly. To be accompanied, when published, with FIG. 1F

摘要: A system for selecting diversion techniques includes a memory storage device and a processor. The processor is configured to, for each of several well characteristics, assign a weight to each of the several well characteristics, where the weight is indicative of the importance of the well characteristic to the selection of a diversion technique, and where not all of the weights are the same. The processor is further configured to calculate a desirability of each of several diversion techniques based upon, at least partially, the weights and the several well characteristics, and select a diversion technique based upon, at least partially, the calculated desirability of the several diversion techniques.

摘要: An emulsion is mixed with fibers while the emulsion is moving through a surface tubing using a venturi. The fiber/emulsion mixture is injected into a pressurized tank and the pressurized fiber/emulsion mixture is injected from the pressurized tank into a desired location in a wellbore. Pumps and pressure boosters may be used to move the fluid. Alternatively, an emulsion and a fiber suspension is provided and a first downhole tubing disposed in a wellbore conveys the emulsion downhole while a second downhole tubing disposed in the wellbore and circumferentially enclosing all or part of the first downhole tubing conveys the fiber suspension downhole. The first downhole tubing has nozzles through which the emulsion passes into the second downhole tubing and the emulsion and the fiber suspension mix. The mixture exits the second downhole tubing through ports at a desired location in the wellbore.

摘要: The invention relates to cement compositions containing a metal silicide such as an alkali metal silicide or an alkaline earth metal silicide. Upon mixing with water, the metal silicide reacts to generate hydrogen gas, a silicate, and heat—each of which is advantageous for the large variety of uses to which cements are put. The invention relates to a foamable cement composition comprising about 99.999 wt % to about 98.5 wt % of a cement, and about 0.001 wt % to about 1.5 wt % of a metal silicide or a mixture of metal silicides. Concretes and grouts containing the cement composition are also disclosed. Other embodiments provide methods for forming cement structures, including in subterranean formations and wells.
