    摘要: A transmission synchronizer assembly includes a pair of annular friction races mounted for movement co-axially with each other in a fixed, spaced apart relationship, with the spacing between the two friction races being at a fixed distance, the friction races being mounted for coaxial movement as a unit into and out of engagement with friction surfaces. An annular shiftable clutch collar is positioned between the two friction races, the clutch collar being mounted for coaxial movement with respect to the friction races to enable engagement of the clutch collar with transmission gears, the clutch collar having two or more circumferentially spaced orifices for receiving pins which are mounted through the orifices to resiliently urge the clutch collar into a roughly central position with respect to the friction races, the pins being shorter than the fixed distance between the two friction races, and not extending into the friction races.

    摘要: A reverse brake mechanism for an automobile transmission has a synchronizing mechanism including a clutch sleeve, mounted for sliding movement on a primary transmission shaft, which has peripheral clutch teeth with chamfers arranged at regular separations. A synchronizing ring, mounted for rotation on the primary shaft, has peripheral synchronizing teeth with chamfers arranged at regular separations, and a brake member is provided for braking the primary shaft. The brake member is operationally coupled to the primary shaft through the synchronizing ring while the clutch sleeve is brought into engagement with the synchronizing ring through their teeth with chamfers when shifting the automobile transmission to a reverse gear.

The hydraulically-actuated shift system includes a hydraulic circuit for providing a source of hydraulic power, a hydraulic actuator for selectively moving a clutch sleeve of the mechanical shift mechanism between the first and second drive positions, and an electric control circuit for controlling selective actuation of the hydraulic actuator. The shift system is particularly well-suited for use with four-wheel drive transfer cases for permitting the vehicle operator to shift between two-wheel and four-wheel drive modes and or between various speed ranges.

The spring assemblies each include at least two leaf springs 48 or 54 sandwiched between split pin members (44). In one embodiment the retainers (50) are formed separate of the leafs and in another embodiment the retainers (55) are integrally formed with the leafs (54) by an extension (54d,54e,54f) of one end of each leaf.

    摘要: A multi-range transmission for motor vehicles having a first gear and a second gear mounted side by side on a common shaft, and a synchronizing device, for matching the speed of the gears, located between the gears and movable axially relative thereto. An actuating element of the synchronizing device rotates with the first gear, the actuating element can be rotate with respect to the gearbox only through a limited angle of rotation and has a circumferential friction surface which can be brought into contact with an opposing friction surface of the second gear when axially moved. In order to permit synchronized shifting with a constant shift time, which is independent of the shift force applied manually, the actuator has a first inclined surface set at an angle to a radial plane which contacts a second inclined surface of with the first gear. In this way, when frictional engagement occurs, the actuating element is subject to an axial force which is directed toward the opposing friction surface of the second gear.
