Abstract:
An electrochemical apparatus includes a catholyte, an anolyte, and a separator disposed between the catholyte and the anolyte. The catholyte includes metal salt dissolved in water, thereby providing at least one metal ion. The anolyte includes a polysulfide solution. The separator is permeable to the at least one metal ion. During a charging process of the electrochemical apparatus, oxygen is generated in the catholyte, the polysulfide in the polysulfide solution undergoes a reduction reaction in the anolyte, and the at least one metal ion moves from the catholyte to the anolyte. During a discharging process of the apparatus, the oxygen is consumed in the catholyte, the polysulfide oxidizes in the anolyte, and the at least one metal ion moves from the anolyte to the catholyte.

Apparatuses, systems, and methods for collecting, transporting, and purifying water using human energy from transport. A barrel shaped water impermeable container made of material comprising an ultraviolet (UV) light stabilized polymer that can be pushed or rolled. The container has one or more ports with removable filters to remove pre-sediment prior to transport and post-sediment after transport. A translucent water impermeable casing comprising an electrical box having at least two removable and replaceable UV lights, connected to copper coils with rotating magnets inside the coil generate power to light the ultraviolet lights and purify water in the container. Three or more removable proportionally spaced carbon fin cartridges rotate about a container closed end axis when the container is pushed or pulled to provide additional purification. Carbon fin cartridges can have a polylactic acid shell wrapped in liquid permeable mesh shell and evenly spaced holes packed with carbon.

The invention discloses a passive equalization method for a lithium iron phosphate battery pack, comprising: determining a voltage range in which a State of Charge can be accurately queried for a cell in the battery pack, and determining a corresponding relation between a voltage at which a State of Charge can be accurately queried and the State of Charge; collecting an open circuit voltage of each cell in a quiescent state; judging whether the open circuit voltage is within the voltage range in which a State of Charge can be accurately queried; if the open circuit voltage is within the voltage range in which a State of Charge can be accurately queried, acquiring the State of Charge of the cell corresponding to the open circuit voltage according to the open circuit voltage and the corresponding relation between a voltage at which a State of Charge can be accurately queried and the State of Charge, and determining equalizing capacity of each cell according to the State of Charge of each cell; calculating equalizing discharge current of each cell according to a passive equalization principle, and calculating equalizing discharge time of each cell according to the equalizing capacity and the equalizing discharge current of each cell; and subjecting the battery pack to passive equalization based on the equalizing discharge time of each cell.
Abstract:
A protective member for rod-like elements, in particular rod sections and/or an endless rod, travelling within a measuring head used in tobacco industry, the measuring head including at least two neighboring sensor units enabling to take measurements of the parameters of the rod-like elements by the radiation emitted and received by the sensor units, the protective member extending through the operation zones of the specific sensor units. The protective member includes compartments defined therein, each compartment corresponding to the operation zone of one sensor unit and each compartment including at least one first opening enabling percolation of the radiation. A measuring head including the protective member is also disclosed.
Abstract:
An apparatus, system and method for wireless power transfer, where a wireless power signal is provided from a charger to a device. A moving mechanism coupled to one of the charger and the device, may move one of the charger and the device along a predetermined pattern along at least one of three axes while wireless power is provided. Wireless power characteristic data may be received from a plurality of locations. The wireless power characteristic data from at least some of the plurality of points are processed to determine at least one of a threshold and optimum wireless power characteristic data value. The moving mechanism may move the one of the device and the charger to a location within the predetermined pattern based on the processed wireless power characteristic data.
Abstract:
An automated charging device detects a presence of a power-consuming device. The automated charging device may determine whether the power-consuming device is in need of recharging by determining a status of a power level of the power-consuming device. In response to determining that the power-consuming device is due for recharging, the automated charging device may direct a wireless power source to the power-consuming device without user intervention and/or instruction. The automated charging device may detect a location of the power-consuming device and use the detected location to appropriately direct the wireless power source to the power-consuming device.
Abstract:
The apparatus 10 for electromagnetic energy transfer comprises a charging fixture 1 with a contact surface 4 and a generator coil 2 forming a resonator circuit with a capacitance. The charging fixture 1 is preferably arranged as an elongated bar whereon a plurality of chargeable electronic devices 5 can be arranged. In order to implement electromagnetic energy transfer from the charging fixture 1 to the electronic device 5 the latter has to be arranged with a pick-up circuit for generating secondary alternating current in a loop, preferably a secondary resonator circuit. In order to fix a position of the electronic device 5 on the charging bar 1, the charging bar is preferably arranged with a projection 3 extending in a plane of the contact surface 4. The electronic device 5 can be shaped to be hanged on the projection and removed from it in accordance with arrow 6.
