摘要： A distributor for H.T. electrical voltage in an internal combustion engine has a base (2) supporting a cap (60). A shaft (1) arranged to rotate in synchronism with the engine rotation drives an apertured rotating plate (8) which is positioned between a light transmitter and a light receiver forming a signal detection unit (15). Signals from the signal detection unit (15) are outputted via a connector (51). The distributor has an H.T. voltage distribution portion formed by a rotor (14), contacts (20,22) and rotor contact (21). The H.T. voltage portion of the distributor is separated from the signal detection unit (15) by an inverted cup-shaped insulating cover (17) located substantially inside the cap (60). The cover (17) is sealed to the base by an annular seal (18) and to the cap by an annular seal (19). A further seal (82) which is preferably integral with the seal (18) is located about the connector (51) and seals the cover (17) to the connector (51). A ventilation hole (71) may be provided through the cover to vent the H.T. voltage distribution portion to the exterior of the distributor.

摘要： An angular position detector mounted within an engine ignition distributor for detecting an angular position of a rotary shaft. The detector comprises a detecting element disposed about the rotary shaft for generating a detection signal corresponding to an angular position of the rotary shaft and a processing circuit disposed around the rotary shaft for processing the detection signal from the detecting element. The detecting element and the processing circuit are connected by an electrical conductor member which is arranged at a position sufficiently remote from the rotary shaft for reducing an undesirable effect of a high voltage which may appear in the rotary shaft.

摘要： A housing structure of a distributor for an internal combustion engine including an ignition coil is disclosed. The housing structure comprises a cup-shaped base accommodating the ignition coil and a cap fitted thereon and accommodating a distributor rotor. A cap-shaped partitioning cover is disposed between the base and the cap to separate the distributor rotor portion therefrom. The high output voltage of the ignition coil is supplied to the distributor rotor through a hollow cylindrical tower fixed to the ignition coil and an insertion electrode which is integral with the cap and fits into the hollow cylindrical tower. The cover has a cap-shaped side extension having a annular disk-shaped top which passes through the insertion electrode. A sealing member, which is disposed between the side extension of the cover and the top portion of the high-voltage tower, includes a portion tightly held between the top end of the tower and the top annular disk of the cap-shaped side extension, and a surface tightly pressed against the side surface of the insertion electrode.

摘要： An electronic ignition system, for a four-stroke, four-cylinder engine, having:sensors that provide signals indicative of the running conditions of the engine,two ignition transformers, each having their respective output windings connected to the spark plugs of a respective pair of cylinders of the engine,means for monitoring the current flow in the respective input windings of the two transformers,switching means for selectively and alternately connecting output of a single integrated circuit to the input windings of the two transformers, and a micro-processor unit. The switching means has two electronically controlled switch devices, respectively in series with the input winding of the first and of the second ignition transformer, connected together in a current path in parallel. A third switch device, controlled by the microprocessor unit, selectively connects the output of the single integrated circuit controlling the angle of "dwell" to either the first or the second controlled switch device, in dependence on the signals provided by the microprocessor unit.
